GPP, a rare, chronic, systemic, autoimmune disease is potentially life threatening if left untreated. It can have an enormous impact on the lives of those who live with a constant fear of flares. We recognize this burden and are committed to addressing unmet medical needs like GPP, driven by our legacy of innovation. By collaborating with medical experts, we gain insights vital to understanding patients' real challenges. Through the GPP Summit, we aim to build a forum that facilitates discussions on treatment guidelines, fostering best practices exchange with the experts in the field. We believe that together, we can improve patient outcomes and transform lives affected by GPP.
At Boehringer Ingelheim, we continuously work towards delivering transformational treatments that improve outcomes for rare diseases like Generalized Pustular Psoriasis (GPP). However, there is more to be done. This is why we hosted our first regional GPP Summit in Dubai, inviting leading dermatologists from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to drive discussions backed by science and learning from their clinical expertise to establish an optimal standard of care and transform the lives of GPP patients in the region. Among the finalists of 10th International Medis Awards were three Slovenian researchers: 🔬 Dr. Jure Urbancic, who researched chronic rhinosinusitis, shedding light on its molecular and genetic events. His work aims to develop targeted biologics and improve treatment for this inflammatory disease. 💊 Dr. Lea Knez, who analyzed the effectiveness of immunotherapy in treating lung cancer patients. Her findings indicate promising results comparable to clinical trials, paving the way for better treatment outcomes in routine clinical practice. 👩⚕️ Dr. Luka Roškar, who explored molecular characteristics of endometrial cancer, aiming for more accurate early diagnosis and tailored therapeutic approaches. 📰 To read extensive article about their research, visit the newspaper Delo website (in Slovenian) 👉 https://lnkd.in/dp3ha5fg #MedisAwards #MedicalResearch #SlovenianResearchers

We were honored to chair the insightful session where Niklas Blomberg , Executive Director of the Innovative Health Initiative (Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) ), shared his perspectives on "Navigating Tomorrow: Insights on Horizon Scanning and Public-Private Collaborative Support Strategies." During his 10-minute talk, Niklas highlighted the critical role of IHI as an EU public-private partnership in funding health research and innovation to address the pressing public health needs of today and tomorrow. This session was part of the European Medicines Agency's 10-year celebration of the EU Network Training Centre (EU NTC), marking a decade of collaborative efforts in advancing medical innovation and regulatory science. Niklas provided an update on the progress from the recent IHI Regulatory Summit, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in driving health innovation forward. We are proud to collaborate with IHI on several key projects where the European Liver Patients' Association (ELPA) plays a significant role: GRIPonMASH: Aiming to transform the detection and management of Metabolic dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (#MASH) to reduce disease burden and improve patient outcomes. LIVERAIM : Developing a biomarker-based platform for the early diagnosis of chronic liver disease, enabling personalized therapy and reducing morbidity and mortality. These collaborations exemplify our commitment to advancing health research and innovation through strategic partnerships. #HealthInnovation #PublicPrivatePartnership #Research #Healthcare #IHI #ELPA #GRIPonNASH #LIVERAIM #EMA #EUNTC EU Health and Food Safety European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) WHO Regional Office for Europe Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024 European Commission EASL the home of Hepatology Aleksander Krag Marko Korenjak Manuel Romero Gomez Veronika Všetíčková MSc Milan Mishkovikj, M.A. European Parliament Anastassiya Semeiskaya European Medicines Agency Emer Cooke

It is a dream come true; I know it sounds like a shallow soundbite, but it is anything but… 6 years ago I had such a dream. The dream of patients being in control of their data, being able to measure how they are doing in a way that is understood by healthcare providers and being able to be to part of any decision that affects their lives. Not out of pity or compassion; but because they have the data and the evidence to prove their point. 6 years ago the #EHDS was not even at the horizon; however there is a tremendous opportunity for synergies now. The Pan-European Observatory can serve as a forum to achieve consensus on what can be measured digitally in routine care in order to improve care and fuel the EHDS with standardized outcome data. At the same time, the data access framework developed through the H2O project offers a blueprint on how to manage data by relying on the Patient Agreement. H2O through the leadership of the Pan-European Health Outcomes Observatory can pave the way on how to build the EHDS on the foundation of 'Data Trusts' and multi-stakeholder consensus on what to measure and how.
📢Following the launch of the pan-European Health Outcomes Observatory, we are thrilled to introduce the newly appointed members of the Board. Congratulations to: 🔹 Dr Jørgen Schøler Kristensen (Chairman of the Danish Medicines Council), who will serve as Chair 🔹 Dr Linetta Koppert (Dutch H2O), who will serve as Vice-Chair 🔹Andreas Christodoulou (European Patients' Forum Board Member), who will join the Board as Treasurer; and 🔹Board Members Dr Matthias Rose (German H2O), Dr Pilar Rodriguez Ledo (Spanish H2O), and Héctor Röthlisberger. This marks a significant milestone for the H2O initiative, now including the pan-European Observatory and national observatories in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain. We are eager to expand further, promoting patient empowerment and advancing health research across #Europe and beyond. It has been fantastic to round off the year with a fruitful workshop on evolving and enhancing multiple sclerosis (MS) care. Roche Gulf Cluster, Roche Türkiye, and Roche Serbia were honoured to organise “Bridging Borders”, an experience-sharing event that brought together leading experts from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Serbia, and Türkiye to present real-world data on MS registries. Our goal? To explore current care models in each region, the real-world data of those treatment centres based in each country and identify how to further improve MS management moving forwards. “Bridging Borders” provided an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals to present their registries’ data and insights. It was extremely interesting to learn more about how global clinical research is translated in each region, as well as how it compares to actual real-world practices in their respective territory. Events of this kind are important to Roche Gulf Cluster, as they highlight local and regional real-world data, and thus offer healthcare regulators and providers the most accurate information on what is needed next in MS care. I look forward to the next one.
