How To Choose The Right Property Tax Expert: 7 Tips to Help You Choose Part 2: Tips 5, 6 and 7. See link in comments for tips 1-4 5. Check Their Understanding of Legal and Regulatory Changes Tax regulations can change frequently, particularly in the property sector. Your expert should be proactive about staying updated on new laws, regulations, and government policies, ensuring you remain compliant and up to date on opportunities for savings. 6. Ensure They Provide Long-Term Strategic Advice Property tax isn't just about preparing returns. Your expert should offer long-term planning advice, considering your entire investment lifecycle—from acquisition to disposal. This ensures they can help you make informed decisions on when to buy, sell, or hold property to minimise tax exposure. 7. Evaluate Their Communication and Transparency Your property tax expert should be able to explain complex tax issues in clear, simple terms. Additionally, transparency regarding fees is important. Make sure you understand how they charge for their services—whether it’s fixed fees or hourly rates—and that their advice is worth the investment. The IRS has raised its penalty interest rate for individuals, to 8% per year. Failure to keep up with your tax payments or withholding may cause the IRS to assess a penalty for underpayment of estimated taxes. The amount of the penalty is determined by the balance still owed after you’ve filed your annual tax return. The IRS charges its 8% interest rate until the balance is paid in full. By following this checklist, you can manage your estimated taxes more efficiently and avoid any surprises when tax time rolls around. Remember, staying proactive about your taxes is crucial for maintaining the financial health of your business. Consulting with a tax professional can provide personalized guidance tailored to your specific financial situation, helping to ensure that your estimated tax payments are accurate. Hi Everyone, This is my first post to LinkedIn since reclaiming my dormant account last week. It's been fun to see so many people I know here; funny how time flies. I actually have something that is important to me that I could use some help with: I'm trying to get nominated to be in the next election for Audio Engineering Society President-Elect, and need 100 nominations from Full AES Members (not Associate or Student) by tomorrow to get onto the ballot for the election that starts in a few weeks. By my rough counting, I think I'm about 14 nominations short. How to do that is below, and I'll link to a document about why you might want to do that, what my qualifications are, what I'd like to do if elected, and a list of some of the meetings I've produced and/or presented for my Pacific Northwest Section, with links to meeting recaps which might make interesting reading if you're into audio. I'd appreciate any help on this, and like I said, the deadline is tomorrow. How: Create an email to secretary@aes.org Subject line: 2024 Election Nomination-Mortensen-President Content: I nominate Dan Mortensen for AES President in the next election. Then add your name and AES membership number. That's it. Thanks! Hope my first post was acceptable. Link: https://lnkd.in/esERE2Mi

Potential Big Changes Ahead for Taxes With Republicans now controlling the White House, Senate, and House, major tax changes could be coming. Key proposals include: 🔹 Extending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) beyond 2025. 🔹 Lowering corporate tax rates to 20% (15% for U.S. manufacturers). 🔹 Immediate deductions for R&D expenses. 🔹 Extending the 20% QBI deduction for small businesses. 🔹 Reinstating 100% bonus depreciation. Stay ahead of the curve—tax planning could look very different soon. 🎙️ Want more insights?
