At SovTech Consulting, one of our potential customers is looking into having a cloud presence with the use of AWS Control Tower service. What is AWS Control Tower? This is the recommended way to not only deploy but also govern an AWS multi-account environment. Another term for this is called a landing zone. AWS Control Tower helps to set this up using best practices for: 1.        Identity 2.        Federated access 3.        Controls 4.        Account structure If you are familiar with AWS Organizations, I call AWS Control Tower the AWS Org+. You can set up controls (also called guardrails) to enforce security practices, satisfy corporate and legal requirements, and create much-needed restrictive account permissions. The business outcomes are establishing a strong foundation for workload migration and foundational pillars for a well-architected AWS framework. How is SovTech Consulting testing this deployment? 1.        Created a new AWS partner test account. 2.        Successfully applied for the "AWS RAPID RAMP CREDIT" that granted us $300 as a small business (Please see the link in the comments). 3.        Initiate recording of the step-by-step deployment for documentation and knowledge transfer based on the prescriptive best practice guides.
