HERTALAN® EPDM sheets for flat roofs are prefabricated in the factory, which reduces the number of seams to be made on the construction site and the amount of work required - and thus also the risk of leaks. With RESITRIX®, EPDM combines with polymer-modified bitumen in sustainable, single-layer sealing membranes that can be laid quickly and easily on almost any surface. During welding, a weld bead is clearly visible, which guarantees 100% tightness of the roof - without any additional testing equipment. AMBITIOUS GROWTH PLANS // “This investment further cements our history of over 110 years in Teesside with a capex spend that will bring about significantly enhanced production capabilities alongside cutting-edge technology.” Middlesbrough-based manufacturer Lionweld Kennedy Group has announced a £1.5 million investment in its site and machinery, including installing the UK’s first shearing machine for steel grating which is expected to increase production capacity of its Safegrid gratings by over 40 per cent. The recent investment further cements the firm’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, with the new multipurpose building also being a carbon neutral building. So successful has the business been in this regard that it has already hit its long-term net zero target for 2040 in three years, being recently recognised at the Make UK Manufacturing Awards as Energy and Sustainability Award for the North East, Yorkshire and Humber.
