Today, March 11th, Belle by Choice teams carried out market sensitization in Kola and AIT Road communities, Lagos State. The sensitization focused on educating women and girls about the importance of family planning, which not only prevents unwanted pregnancies but also enables women to practice child spacing. Additionally, the team talked to the women and adolescent girls about the need to practice safe sex, such as the use of condoms to prevent unwanted pregnancies and contact with HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections. During the sensitization, some of the women we spoke to shared their positive experiences with family planning, highlighting how it has allowed them to focus on their careers and plan properly for their future. Overall, it was an insightful event, as we were able to educate 142 women in the market. It was encouraging to see women who are already using modern contraception sharing their positive experiences and advising others to consider family planning. @BelleByChoice #MyHealthMyPride #EndingUnwantedAndUnplannedPregnancies #EnsuringAllPregnaciesAreWanted

Today is National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, which is a critical opportunity to learn more and share about HIV prevention, testing, and treatment. It’s also a great time to address HIV stigma and center voices with lived experience on sexual and reproductive health for gay men. Use this interactive training tool from the OPA-funded Clinical Training Center for Sexual and Reproductive Health to practice tailoring sexual and reproductive health services to males in Title X settings. By embracing these innovative strategies, we can better support communities and drive meaningful change in HIV prevention and care. https://lnkd.in/ebuVqcqD

Healthy families are created by choice, not by chance," the late Dr. Nafis Sadik, former UNFPA executive director, said at the International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo three decades ago. This resonates deeply today on #WorldContraceptionDay. Planning your future never goes out of style! Whether it's abstinence, condoms, or other methods, you have the power to choose and protect your health against STIs, including HIV. Contraception is cool, and taking control of your future is even cooler. Let's spread awareness, stay safe, and make informed decisions for a healthier tomorrow! #Contraceptives #HealthImpact #InformedDecisions #ContraceptionDay #NGOsInNigeria #Kidsnteensngo

Condom Availability Programs (CAPs) have been pivotal in curbing HIV, STIs, and teen pregnancies since the 1990s. A 2023 survey highlights schools' reliance on condoms, with Vermont leading as the first state to mandate free condom availability in secondary schools in 2021. We commend initiatives that prioritize sexual health education and equitable access to essential resources like condoms for all. #condoms #sexualhealth #condom #sex #condomnews

💜 16 Days of Activism: We are committed to supporting efforts in ending violence against women and girls in all settings, this includes schools. Schools can be effective environments to manage interventions to prevent and respond to GBV. 📈Our new report on violence in and around school found that high rates of absenteeism in school for girls have further impacts on their futures, as they become more at risk of child or early forced marriage or pregnancy, and sexually transmitted infections such as HIV/AIDS. 🔗 Learn more about how to prevent violence in and around schools here: https://lnkd.in/e_sPw_SA #EndGBV #16DaysofActivism
