Separatists’ shift to rural areas in Anglophone Cameroon Since 2021, separatists in Anglophone Cameroon have increasingly moved to rural areas as a result of rising violence against civilians and declining local support. #isis #mozambique I'm in two minds about the withdrawal of the #sadc forces. The #sandf troops haven't been properly supported and were fighting with their hands tied by a lack of political will. It is concerning that this may allow the ISIS aligned militants to regroup and expand their hold. This group has been responsible for the execution of #christians and burning churches. https://lnkd.in/ddS3f2B4

The CENTCOM/AFRICOM Team’s Security Brief analyzed the killing of Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Senior Commander Ali Yagoub Gibril by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its joint forces, and the sentencing of three Nigerians by Benin's Court for the Repression of Economic Offenses and Terrorism (CRIET). The RSF will likely seek immediate retribution for the death of Gibril, likely carrying out targeted attacks against SAF and its allies in the region. The Benin’s CRIET decision will likely lead to a breakdown in diplomatic communications and strain bilateral relations between Niger and Benin. #OSINT #AFRICA #Niger #Benin #CRIET #Wapco #Monday https://lnkd.in/gWGDXtZF
