3 reasons why we are joining networks? 1) never stop learning from others. Not only our spaces, but also us as organizations and individuals need to constantly evolve, transform, adapt, react to our environments and be ready to face new emerging challenges. We can do so by being eternally curious, stepping into reality of others, understanding how it resonates with our own context and how might we re-use and further adapt some of the existing methods. 2) create meaningful partnerships for international cooperation projects (and here I stress the word meaningful...). Too often we end up in random partnerships that don't bring much value in terms of outputs or impact. Too often we do it out of necessity and are not in position to choose. But, once you get to that point of being able to say "no", you are able to seek meaning and build stronger partnerships with organizations (and people) you trust. Networks facilitate this process. 3) proving the value at the national level. Unfortunately, we work in a country in which you constantly need to prove yourself (as a small, apolitical player). Being able to say we are part of important European networks adds to the weight of our applications for national funding ("If Europe approved it so can we"). What other reasons would you add to this list? #networks #value #internationalcooperation
We are happy to announce that we became members of another international network: European Network of Cultural Centres 🎊 ENCC unites 153 socio-cultural organisations in 37 countries across Europe and beyond, for training, cooperation and advocacy. As we wrap up a successful 3-day event filled with insightful community dialogue, one key takeaway stands out: when citizens are excluded from decision-making, policies often fail to meet their needs. Without active participation, development efforts become disconnected, leaving vulnerable communities behind. For true sustainable development, we must prioritize community engagement and ensure that citizens are included in every step. Only through inclusive dialogue can we craft impactful, people-centered policies that align with the SDGs and foster long-lasting change. Let’s continue building a future where every voice is heard, and no one is left behind. #CommunityEngagement #SustainableDevelopment #InclusiveGrowth #SDGs #LeaveNoOneBehind #TwendekazinaSDGs #DecadeofAction Centre for Multiparty Democracy Kenya | PACJACI | United Disabled Persons of Kenya UDPK | VSO | Usawa Agenda | Champions for SDGs Youth

We need more than *individuals* to commit to diversity. We need *institutions*, whole large *organizations* to clearly commit - and openly express and stand for their values, attitudes and convictions. Setting examples to also motivate others to take such a positive stand. And contesting and setting clear boundaries to undesirable bigotry. I want to see more statements like this one below: #togetherwecanmakeadifference #diversityequityinclusion #commitment

Advocating for Mandated Modalities for Effective Multistakeholder Inclusion for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development In the Intersessional Multistakeholder Hearing for the United Nations Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, along with my colleagues from the United Nations Major Group on Children and Youth, I have advocated for mandated inclusion of several MGOS (Major Groups and Other Stakeholders) in FfD4. MGOS plays a crucial role in the work of multistakeholder inclusion in the United Nations, offering a platform of diverse stakeholder constituencies to engage effectively and purposefully with the UN. This expands the voice and space for civil society in the United Nations by extending the traditional CSO space open to NGOs, Academia, and Private Sector Organisations. FfD4 should be a place for transformative change in regards to stakeholder engagement and participation in the global finance and development agenda. FfD4 cannot be another FfD, where it failed to deliver the promise of "Leave No One Behind." #ffd #ffd4 #financingfordevelopment #stakeholders #inclusion #advocacy #civilsociety #csos #igos #mgos #majorgroups #youth #youthleadership #youthadvocacy #ngo #nonprofits #nongovernmentalorganizations #lobbying #foreignpolicy #internationalrelations #un #onu #unitednations #hearing #multistakeholder #finance #globaleconomicpolicy #policymaking #taxjustice

Youth from marginalized and vulnerable communities are faced with a lack of resources, information & exposure. Most of them are first-time learners, and hence lack guidance and support systems. As a result, few marginalized youth are able to utilize existing schemes & policies for their development. Further, challenges of social discrimination have significantly dented their self-confidence and self-esteem. All of this combines in limiting their ability to effectively address their problems. It is imperative that such youth have access to platforms which enable them to overcome these challenges, chart out a life trajectory and discover their true potential. Thanks to Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies for believing in youth work.
RNP’s partners in our #ActiveCitizenship portfolio often work with young people, prioritising their voices and inspiring the youth to actively become part of civic solutions. Discover how these organisations have adopted a multi-pronged approach to work with youth and activate their potential: https://lnkd.in/ggXf65xy Ft: Haiyya, We, The People Abhiyan, Synergy Sansthan, Pravah, Reap Benefit, Anubhuti Trust.
