The World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is celebrated on July 30th each year. This day was established by the United Nations in 2013 to raise awareness about the plight of human trafficking victims and to promote and protect their rights1. The purpose of the Day is to highlight the issues and challenges faced by victims of human trafficking, including the various forms of exploitation they endure and to urge governments, organizations, and individuals to take action to prevent trafficking, support victims, and bring traffickers to justice. This year’s theme focuses on “Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking”, emphasizing the urgent need to protect children, who are particularly vulnerable to trafficking. #WorldDayAgainstTraffickingInPersons #LeaveNoChildBehind #EndHumanTrafficking #4ABetterWorld

Cambodia CTIP is #SidingWithVictims of trafficking 🤝 Why do we say this? 🌍 Because right now, around the world, the odds are against most victims being helped or identified. 📊 According to UN data, while there are an estimated 50 million victims globally, only about 50,000 are identified each year. This gap highlights why victims need an empathetic hearing when they seek help. 🆘💬 🗝️ It’s all about #Trust. Trafficking is traumatic and deeply personal. Victims need to trust duty bearers when sharing their stories. If government agencies build good relationships with communities, it encourages victims to step forward. 🚫 A major barrier to trust is #VictimBlaming. When officials claim victims are lying or making false claims, it discourages them from seeking help. This mindset is harmful and stalls progress in the fight against human trafficking and forced labor. 💙 We Side Against Victim Blaming

Today is United Nations’ World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. It's the 11th year of raising awareness this way... but unfortunately, reports of human trafficking and slavery to the AFP have reached an all-time high, following a 12 per cent increase in the 2023-24 financial year. The theme for WDATIP 2024 is ‘Leave no child behind in the fight against human trafficking’, to focus on accelerating global efforts to combat child trafficking. Children make up a big part of trafficking victims worldwide. Identifying and protecting them is difficult due to underreporting and lack of resources. We need better systems tailored to their needs to support victims and hold traffickers accountable. #EndHumanTrafficking #EndModernSlavery #BeSlaveryFree

Anti-Slavery Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the fact over 49.6 million people in the world today, and an estimated 122,000 people in the UK, are trapped in conditions of modern slavery. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Anti-Slavery Day is a time to encourage governments, businesses, friends, family and colleagues to do what they can to prevent human trafficking and protect victims of modern-day slavery. #AntiSlaveryDay #Preventhumantrafficking
