Last Friday, I opened a discussion on the critical importance of expanded access programs for patients battling rare diseases. The response from the community was both enlightening and inspiring. Expanded access programs are more than just pathways to treatment—they are lifelines for those who might otherwise have none. By bridging the gap between clinical development and regulatory approval, these programs offer a glimpse of light during the darkest of times. WEP Clinical will continue to advocate for these vital programs and recognize the hope and opportunities they provide. Our collective commitment to leaving no patient behind in the quest for healing and health equity is embodied in these programs. Let's start a conversation about how WEP can augment your internal team to support the expansion of current programs or just begin EAP within your organization. Because every patient deserves a chance to fight, and every rare disease voice needs to be heard. #RareDisease #PatientAccess #ExpandedAccess #WEPClinical #ClinicalDevelopment

September is Sepsis Awareness Month! This year, we are proud to share that the State of Illinois, thanks to a request initiated by Prenosis, has officially issued a proclamation recognizing the importance of sepsis awareness. We’d like to extend our gratitude to Governor JB Pritzker’s office for its support in bringing attention to this critical issue. #Sepsis affects 1.7 million Americans annually and is the leading cause of hospitalization costs in the U.S., accounting for $62 billion in acute care expenses. Tragically, it claims the lives of 350,000 adults and 6,800 children each year. Raising awareness about sepsis is essential, especially in communities with limited access to healthcare, where the burden is disproportionately high. Proclamations, like the one from Illinois, help shed light on this life-threatening condition and underscore the importance of early recognition and treatment. #SepsisAwarenessMonth #Sepsis #HealthEquity #Prenosis #IllinoisProclamation #Healthcare
