Backing earliest-stage founders building in health tech!

I really enjoyed writing this piece about investing in "high information-barrier-to-entry" sectors like health tech for the fantastic Embracing Emergence LP newsletter. This article synthesizes my experiences at Osmosis, On Deck Health, and Opal Ventures into actionable insights for both emerging fund managers and LPs. Thanks for giving me the platform to share my learnings, Benedikt! If you're an LP or Emerging Manager looking to better understand how the other side thinks, I highly recommend subscribing to Embracing Emergence. A big thank you also to my amazing analyst, Matthew Magnani, for his help in bringing this piece to life. If you want to dig in further on early-stage health tech investing, shoot me a note!

Having been at ODH with you Owen Willis and now here with you with Opal Ventures , love your insights…. What I honor most about you is your willingness and ability to lower that “high information barrier to entry” for good founders

This is a pretty spot on Owen. Haven’t seen anyone typically call out the Information barrier and network establishment as top of list items despite the importance.
