A day later, you get a call informing you that there was an 'inventory issue' and the part you ordered is not in stock. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿: how upset will you be on that phone call? They took your money and misled you. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗽: how excited are you to make dozens of calls like this EVERY DAY to inform customers you can’t fulfill their order in the near future. Before one of RafterOne's semiconductor customers implemented Salesforce Commerce and Order Management, this was a common occurrence. Inventory syncs happened once a day, so some inventory data on their website could be up to 23.5 hours old. Customer support reps would have to manually allocate inventory and reconcile orders with the ERP. Often, customer support reps would need to call customers—who had already paid for the parts on the website—to tell them it was an error and they didn't have the inventory to ship to them. This not only led to frustrated customers and lost sales but also strained the support team. Enter Salesforce Commerce and Order Management. Real-time inventory updates became the new norm, eliminating the risk of overselling products that weren't actually available. Customer orders were now automatically synced with the ERP, ensuring accurate stock levels and seamless fulfillment processes. The impact was immediate and profound.
