🌏 Global Exhibitions Day 🌏 Today, on Global Exhibitions Day 🌏, which coincides with World Environment Day 🌱🌳, we are reminded of this year’s fitting theme: “Exhibitions are catalysts to sustainable futures.” Sustainability extends beyond environmental concerns, but the environment is an excellent starting point for transforming our exhibitions. The exhibition industry always has been a part of the circular economy and most suppliers are going beyond with eco-friendly electrics and flooring to reusable walls and furniture, the emphasis is on reducing waste and reusing materials. However, there’s always room for improvement in. As organisers and agencies, we strive to create captivating displays, but we must also consider the environmental impact. Can we achieve the same wow factor with sustainable alternatives? Can our displays be reused? It’s time to ask these important questions and push the boundaries of what’s possible. Join us in making sustainability a priority in every exhibition. #GED #GlobalExhibitonsDay #WorldEnvironmentalDay #Sustsinability

How small event changes can make a big impact to sustainability 🟣 Sustainability isn't about perfection – it’s about making small, meaningful changes that add up to big impact. 🌍✨ 🌱 Start with Reuse Incorporate reusable or sustainable materials into your event design. From furniture to decor, choosing items that can be repurposed helps reduce waste. 📏 Measure & Improve Track your event’s carbon footprint and use the data to make strategic, long-term improvements. Each event is an opportunity to refine your sustainability efforts. 🌍 Think Big, Start Small Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. If you implement one eco-friendly initiative this time, aim for two next time. Incremental change leads to lasting impact. 🤝 Partner with Purpose Work with like-minded suppliers who share your sustainability goals. Collaboration is key to balancing environmental considerations with creative and marketing objectives. 🚗 Make it Easy for Attendees Encourage eco-friendly practices like carpooling or public transport. Share your sustainability vision with attendees and involve them in your green initiatives. 💡 Plan for the Future Long-term contracts offer opportunities to reuse resources and develop smarter, more sustainable practices over time. 🟣 By weaving sustainability into every aspect of your planning, we can create impactful events that are kind to the planet without compromising on creativity or success. #Sustainability #EcoFriendlyEvents #IncrementalChange #EventPlanning #GreenInitiatives #Reservations2000

✨ Happy World Design and Innovation Day! ✨🌍 Today, as we celebrate the power of design and innovation to shape our world, it's crucial to reflect on the principles that guide our creations. In an era where sustainability is paramount, designers and innovators carry a significant responsibility to prioritize the planet, people, and then profit in their endeavors. At [Your Sustainable Events Company], we recognize the profound impact of our work on both the environment and society. That's why we're committed to integrating the principles of sustainability and the circular economy into every aspect of our event design process. Sustainability isn't just a buzzword for us—it's a guiding philosophy. When conceptualizing and organizing events, we meticulously consider the environmental footprint of every decision we make. From venue selection to transportation logistics, we strive to minimize waste, energy consumption, and carbon emissions at every turn. Moreover, we prioritize the well-being of people in all stages of event planning and execution. This means fostering inclusivity, diversity, and accessibility to ensure that everyone feels welcome and valued. Whether it's through thoughtful seating arrangements or providing accommodations for differently-abled attendees, we're dedicated to creating spaces where everyone can thrive. But our commitment to sustainability doesn't end there. We're also champions of the circular economy, seeking innovative ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle resources throughout the event lifecycle. From incorporating upcycled decor to partnering with local vendors who share our values, we're constantly striving to close the loop and minimize waste. By adhering to these principles, we believe that we can create events that not only inspire and entertain but also leave a positive legacy for future generations. As we commemorate World Design and Innovation Day, let's remember that true progress isn't just measured by profits—it's measured by the impact we have on our planet and our communities. Join us in celebrating the transformative power of design and innovation, and let's continue to work together towards a more sustainable and equitable future for all. 🌿💡 Join the event revolution and contact us at https://lnkd.in/d3JefNjM #WorldDesignAndInnovationDay #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #DesignThinking

How do you make a 2000 person event sustainable? I attended Urban Future and they’ve made sustainability a core part of their event design. It took place the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre in Rotterdam. Lisa Marie Gatterbauer, Head of Communications at Urban Future, shared their approach: 1. Travel: Urban Future encouraged speakers and attendees to travel by train. I personally travelled from Heidelberg to Rotterdam by train as well. 2. Vegetarian and vegan catering: The event served vegetarian and vegan catering and promoted a ‘bring your own bottle’ initiative. 3. Branding: Branding materials were made from cardboard, and exhibitors were encouraged to minimise paper usage by displaying information on provided boards with QR codes for digital access. The shirts the team wore and the merchandise available were eco friendly. 4. Event badges: Event badges were made from grass paper. 5. Recycled decor: Plants at the venue were rented, and their pots were made from recycled plastic. 6. Collaboration with local companies: Urban Future collaborated with local suppliers, including photographers and videographers. Attendees explored Rotterdam through various local social and green initiatives during field trips. Which of these ideas would you like to implement in your next event? Do you have more ideas to share? —————- I share more business event news and trends in my newsletter. Subscribe via the link in bio. See you there!

Excited for 2025 and the focus on sustainability! Grateful for insights from Exhibitor Group and author Mel White, sparking industry conversations and actionable steps. Mel White's impact on sustainability with the EDPA - Experiential Designers & Producers Association's Sustainability Committee and Classic Exhibits Inc. | Exhibits ~ Rentals ~ Environments Inc. is commendable. Collaborating with companies like Genesis Exhibits, we strive for eco-friendly exhibit production. Together our committee with Mel, we contributed to the "Sustainability Guidance for Exhibition Stand Construction" alongside the EDPA, ESCA Exhibition Services & Contractors Association, and EIC Events Industry Council. These guidelines, published in 2024, aim to enhance sustainability practices in the live event industry. Another outing for HaloITSM’s exhibition stand this week at the Gartner It Symposium Xpo in Barcelona (stand no: 437). This expo stand not only represents Halo’s brand but also embodies a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and long-term value. We crafted this eco-friendly exhibition stand using sustainable materials and designed it with modular components, allowing for maximum reuse and adaptability. 1. Sustainability at the Core: Every material used is chosen for its environmental benefits, from recycled and recyclable materials to responsibly sourced wood and energy-efficient lighting. By choosing sustainable options, the stand will align with eco-conscious values. 2. Reusability for Cost-Effectiveness: Rather than starting from scratch for every event, this stand is modular and customisable. We can easily adapt and rearrange components to suit different venues or new product launches, ensuring the stand stays fresh and relevant without unnecessary waste or cost. 3. Brand Consistency with Flexibility: The modular elements allow us to maintain a consistent look and feel for our clients brand while offering the flexibility to update layouts, visuals, and messaging to meet changing needs. The booth remains dynamic and engaging, event after event. 4. Enhanced ROI: Since each component is built to last, our clients see a significant return on investment over time. They didn’t just invest in a one-time stand; instead we created a long-term, adaptable brand asset. 5. Reduced Carbon Footprint: By minimising material waste and reducing the need for constant rebuilding, the brand demonstrates a clear commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. By choosing a sustainable exhibition stand, HaloITSM is not only making a positive impact on the planet but also reconfirming the company as a forward-thinking leader in their industry. I love working with clients that give us freedom to do what we do best ……. Have a great show #teamhalo 👍 For more information about HaloITSM ℹ️ www.haloITSM.com #gartnerITSymposium #ITSymposium #barcelona #itsm #haloitsm #halo Steve Robinson Design Display Solutions Ltd
