2028 No Car Olympics in 2028 LA? "We’re already working to create jobs by expanding our public transportation system in order for us to have a no car games" Right now LA has 2 light rail systems, several bus systems, a couple of para-transit organizations, and various other transit agencies. They run from "it's safe and mostly on time" to "Not safe and what schedule". Signage is poor and the various websites are not helpful with route planning across the various systems. One person in an information booth told me "oh, you want to go there, use an Uber." Without talking any construction, it is likely going to take LA more than 30 months just to make it reasonable to understand how you get from point A to point B. Both Apple and Google maps are going to have to up their game to be helpful (including moving dots on the maps to help people know when it the time to get off, and then where to go, when underground. On the 6 trips in LA I tried to take during the IEEE PES T&D show, I failed at 4, even with directions from the information booth. Now add in bus lanes, and loading and unloading platforms, and the 30-36 months LA has to make all of this happen. Good Luck!
