https://lnkd.in/ey3DAk2S An intriguing article on the 'Tsunami of challenges' facing the Water sector in the US the outlines failures to plug OT Security holes in this notoriously leaky sector (puns are not my own 😄). In all seriousness, the rejection of regulation, lack of incentive to invest in OT Security and the heterogenous infrastructures of the myriad operators presents a potentially catastrophic risk. #OTsecurity #watersecurity Xcede EarthStream Global

In today's interconnected world, the security of our critical infrastructures is more important than ever. The electrical grid, supply chains, water systems, ports, and other vital components are the backbone of our society. A breach in any of these areas could lead to catastrophic consequences, affecting not just the immediate area, but potentially having a ripple effect across the nation and even globally. **How prepared are we to defend against and respond to a potential attack on our critical infrastructures?**#CriticalInfrastructure #Resilience #Security #APUS

Can an air-gapped system really create enough power for leaked emissions to be intercepted? I get it, we need to worry about security, if the emissions from your system are high enough to be detected outside of rooms and buildings, you have other issues to fix.

https://lnkd.in/g_Q3VW5A File this article/report under why didn't we know of this? Or at least warn the applicable agencies, public, private Financial crime institutions etc...? A few excepts follow Please don't stick your head into your laptop or desktop folks!!! CISA, NSA, FBI and the following partners are releasing this advisory to warn critical infrastructure organizations about this assessment, which is based on observations from the U.S. authoring agencies’ incident response activities at critical infrastructure organizations compromised by the PRC state-sponsored cyber group known as Volt Typhoon (also known as Vanguard Panda, BRONZE SILHOUETTE, Dev-0391, UNC3236, Voltzite, and Insidious Taurus): The U.S. authoring agencies have confirmed that Volt Typhoon has compromised the IT environments of multiple critical infrastructure organizations—primarily in Communications, Energy, Transportation Systems, and Water and Wastewater Systems Sectors—in the continental and non-continental United States and its territories, including Guam. Volt Typhoon’s choice of targets and pattern of behavior is not consistent with traditional cyber espionage or intelligence gathering operations, and the U.S. authoring agencies assess with high confidence that Volt Typhoon actors are pre-positioning themselves on IT networks to enable lateral movement to OT assets to disrupt functions. The U.S. authoring agencies are concerned about the potential for these actors to use their network access for disruptive effects in the event of potential geopolitical tensions and/or military conflicts. (WELL THAT’S THE UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR!!) #expletivesdeleted??? 😫 👿 🙈 🙉 🙊

The New Geopolitical Weapon: The Impact of Cyberattacks Against Critical Infrastructure https://lnkd.in/efmqvm8i Electricity, transportation, water, communications – these are just some of the systems and assets that keep the world functioning. Critical infrastructure, a complex interconnected ecosystem, is what props entire countries up and is vital for the functioning of society and the economy. This is why it is under attack. Threat actors, usually nation-state backed, know this very well. By taking down the poorly protected power grid of a city or even a country, cyber attackers cannot only cause mass chaos, but any threat to the critical infrastructure sectors could have potentially debilitating national security, economic and public health or safety […]

Protecting the power grids in the U.S. requires a multifaceted approach. Bad actors attempt to disrupt electricity through both cyberattacks and taking advantage of physical vulnerabilities. Our critical infrastructure can't have critical security gaps. Proactive security upgrades and solutions are essential. https://lnkd.in/dWQJiC-e #securitycameras #surveillance #securitysystem #physicalsecurity #ai #artificialintelligence

T-0 ⛽ Ten new ATG (ICS) vulnerabilities have been disclosed. Successful exploitation can range from simple DoS to actual physical damage(!) After a challenging coordinated vulnerability disclosure process with our friends at CISA, I can now share my latest research under Bitsight TRACE, conducted from our own ICS-Labs. Exploring the limits of what is possible, bridging the virtual to physical world gap has truly been extremely satisfying and is one of my favorite types of research. In a word: it as been a blast 🔥 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/gu5cEUdX #BitsightTRACE #CISA #ATG #ICS
