Here are some updates from my side in these two weeks.   - My Mo is growing, see attached photo - My company's team has raised $6018 on our way to the $9103 target - I raised $587 toward the $1550 target (I NEED YOUR DONATION) - I have walked 71km to date, surpassing my 60km goal - I exercised 3 times per week.   In return for your generosity and support and to meet the fundraising goal, I pledge to walk 10km for every $100 donating to my page for the remainder of this fundraising, and I pledge to complete this by December 15, 2024. This means if I reach the fundraising target, I will be walking an additional 120km. We are raising much-needed funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. 43 men die from prostate cancer every hour. Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men.   Every minute, a man dies from suicide. Those are some powerful facts. But we don’t have to stay quiet about it. The most noble sacrifice one can make is to save a life It's been a while since my last donation (for no good reason to be candid) but finally made it in to donate blood this morning. A quick stick, about 20 minutes of sitting around with a stress ball in hand, then I was on my way. Easy peasy. Here are some powerful facts to consider: • In the Texas Gulf Coast region alone, around 1,000 donations are needed every day. • A single donation can save up to 3 lives. • While 38% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, only 2% actually do. • Cancer, the second leading cause of death, often requires patients to receive blood during treatment. Why Not Just Check? Today, I'm back at Southampton donating platelets—something very close to my heart. Both my aunts, Polly and Liz, were diagnosed with cancer when I was a child. As a child, you feel quite helpless, and not much changes as you get older, except realizing how much more helpless you can feel. But when I discovered I was part of the lucky few who are #GoldBlooded, I was eager to donate as regularly as possible. My blood type is AB+, which means only about 1 in 50 of us have this type. Combine that with the fact that there are only 14,000 platelet donors out of 1.4 million blood donors, and you see the low probability... It all starts with checking! If just one person reads this and checks if they can donate, it will be worth it. A single platelet donation can save the lives of 3 adults or 12 children. I'm fortunate that, due to my size, I can donate a triple each time.
