We've got some more Behind The Curtain material to show you!
In this video System Tech Liam Walker walks us through setting up VGt for Imagine Dragons at The Gorge (Washington, USA). Get ready for a deep dive into the technology behind VGt, optimization through ArrayIntelligence and efficiency in rigging and truck pack.

My name is Liam Walker and I am the Systems Technician for the Imagine Dragons 2024 Loom World Tour. We're here today at the Gorge Amphitheatre and we are deploying the new Adamson VGT today at the Gorge. We are flying AT20V GT on the main hangs and on the aux hangs we have 10 VGT over six CS 10s. We also have 12 flown E 219th per side along with 14. E1 nineteens on the ground with a spaced fill array of C 10's. The biggest issue with the GORD is the fact that either side of the Amphitheatre is not geometrically the same. So having the ability to use array intelligence and split those arrays and be able to do a stage left and a stage right while still being able to use all of your different tools has really allowed us to cover both sides of the gorge very well. Alright guys, this one. So many boxes in the same size footprint as the older E Fifteens or some other boxes. We've been able to minimize truck space and we've been able to put more boxes and keep a really clear and detailed resolution as we've been flying. On top of that, we've been able to eliminate some of our Rackspace and footprint on stage, which has made Monitor World extremely happy along with some guitar techs. Exponentially easier and who doesn't love just plug it in a couple cables into one rack instead of plugging in 64 to a rack? Coming from flying the F fifteens for awhile, I didn't think that you could actually make a box faster to fly. VGD has somehow done that. I feel like it's even half the time of the F fifteens and that was exponentially better than anything else out on the market today. The VGT has taken that, made it faster, slicker, simple cable in the PA has been a breeze. We've been able to Daisy chain. Quite a few boxes together to be able to make it fast and efficient at going up in the air, which keeps our load in times quick or you're not dealing with, you know, 64,000, 000 cables left, right and center. Yeah. One of the things that's like pretty cool about having the option to change between the cardioid preset and the Omni preset is see, when we've got it into a smaller venue and I've had to take less boxes on like a side hang, I've been able to keep the main hang in cardioid and keep that low mid nice and tight. For everything and using the aux sang and Omni and I'm able to keep that consistency throughout the venue. My favorite thing about the optimization is without doing too much work, I'm already within that three DB window that I'm trying to aim for the people in the front all the way to the back of the venue. And optimization has really made it easy to achieve that. Say you could have changed an angle that would have been a little bit better, but optimization is making it easy after the fact that you can adjust that. I think one of the nicest things about having the powered boxes now is the fact that we do have one box resolution throughout an entire hang. And when you start getting into that fine of details, you're able to really manipulate certain areas of a venue that may or may not be giving you challenges with that one box resolution. Now we're talking that just that area I can really deal with without having the effects of changing an entire array overall. VGT has been a great box to deploy every day. Not only is it easy to fly, but it's also pretty intuitive when you're starting to tune the box with optimization and array intelligence. You're really 90% of the way there by the time you get started Tooting, which that makes my job faster, easier, and everybody's happy when they don't have to listen to pink noise for an hour. I think with the upgraded mid driver and the HF ability that the VGT has, you're looking at a significant upgrade from. Anything turn with the VGT has been a breeze for me. Having a little bit of Adamson experience beforehand has obviously helped, but we've had some texts out here that have been brand new and we've been able to just get them right up to speed rather quickly. Having a box that's really fast and efficient and easy to rig and very durable has been exponential in our abilities to get these shows up and running every day. Think in today's market, the VGT is probably the standard that should be going forward. Sounds phenomenal, and it's easy and it's light and efficient. Everybody that I've been kind of encountering, I've been telling them about it just because my experience on it has been so easy and flawless. And really having the support from Adamson has made it exponentially easier as well. So with all that behind me, why not get everybody on it?
Leave no opportunity untouched! let us talk.
