🌍 What role have human worldviews, mindsets, and beliefs played in creating and maintaining the current global crises? And how can they provide a pathway forward? We had the opportunity to explore these questions at the recent event 'Navigating Climate Change: Managing Change in an Uncertain Environment’ hosted by Tasmanian Leaders Inc and sponsored by Hydro Tasmania. What is clear is that the increasing complexities of our world demand a profound shift in thinking. ↔ Swipe through to explore our thoughts on how we as individuals, communities, and organisations can evolve our perspectives for a sustainable future. #ChangeMakers #climatechange #ThoughtLeadership

Last month, The Rockefeller Foundation, our esteemed Global Patron Member, took a significant step towards global sustainability by unveiling a strategic roadmap. This pivotal document is designed to enhance the effectiveness of Just Energy Transition Partnerships, focusing on transforming energy infrastructures in low- and middle-income countries into more equitable and sustainable systems. At our 2023 Annual Summit, Dr. Raj Shah from The Rockefeller Foundation, articulated a compelling vision: "We have a choice to make as a planet: either the climate transition is only for wealthy economies, or it’s for everyone." This statement underscores the imperative for inclusive progress in the fight against climate change. Discover more about this initiative: https://bit.ly/3IKJ2l8 Don’t miss their enlightening session at our 2023 Annual Summit, titled "Making Big Bets to Address Climate Change & Other Global Crises."

Now is not the time for despair. It’s a time for doubling down on climate action. Today’s political outcomes remind us that real change does not originate from the top—it starts with us. It starts with communities uniting, taking responsibility for their futures, and creating solutions that heal our planet and the people who inhabit it. The urgency of our climate crisis cannot be overstated, but neither can the power of grassroots action. As individuals, neighbors, and local leaders, we can foster change that ripples outward. Local action is critically needed and understated when it comes to the climate crisis. We need a cultural transformation—one that teaches us to live in harmony with our environment rather than extract from it endlessly. Let’s commit to healing both the earth and the people who call it home. What’s one step you’re taking today to lead this change? Let’s build this future together. 🌱

Go if you can! Jean Boulton was amazing at Institute of Physics last week. If you've read my book 'Leadership in Complexity and Change', you'll have met process complexity already. I call it 'dynamic patterning'. Dynamic patterning affects us all in our everyday lives, whether we're aware of it or not. 'Learning-informed leadership' offers practical ways to embrace this dynamic patterning and make smarter decisions. #complexity #dynamicpatterning #leadership De Gruyter Business & Economics

We know we need to change the way we lead if we want to resolve complex issues like climate change. But how should we lead instead? The folks in the District of Sooke on Vancouver Island tackled this question when we worked together to develop their climate action plan. What they came up with has been a game-changer for inspiring climate action among their staff, citizens and businesses. Their approach was so successful that we just shared it with elected officials from across Canada at the Climate Caucus to accelerate this shift in leadership. Find out how we did it in my latest article on the Qwest for Good.
