Development of axial flux motors before they became popular! Axial flux motors are one of the future technologies of electromobility. Some of you may have already seen and heard it at Coiltech in Augsburg: our chief developer Dr. Jakob Jung has been developing axial flux motors for a wide range of applications for over 15 years, from e-bikes to high-performance applications. The motors can be built extremely slim, but achieve up to 30% higher torque densities than comparable radial flux motors. With the development of new coil designs and optimised busbars, the technology is more exciting than ever. The targeted use of innovative manufacturing technologies and state-of-the-art insulation processes gives designers a high degree of freedom and new possibilities. The future of mobility Additive Drives will be giving two keynote speeches at the E|DPC in Regensburg next week.
