Remember when baking bread and figuring out Zoom was all the rage? 😅 Now, remote work (and virtual coffees ☕) is the new normal — and we’re better for it! As I baked raisin bread this past Sunday, it got me thinking about how much has changed since the days of lockdown. The last time I used my bread machine was during the height of the pandemic, when everyone was baking their own bread (if you were lucky enough to have flour of course!), buying bicycles 🚴 treadmills, and adjusting to life at home. The pandemic brought unexpected challenges, but it also presented incredible opportunities — like the shift to remote work and connecting with people beyond our local communities. Now, meet-and-greets over a virtual coffee (or tea!) are part of our everyday life, making it easier to collaborate and build relationships no matter where we are. Back then, it felt like only the privileged few had a Zoom account, but now we’re spoilt for choice with platforms that make remote collaboration easier and far more efficient. I remember the days of painstakingly trying to schedule meetings around everyone’s availability 📅 for in-person gatherings. Now, there's so much more flexibility — coordinating diaries is simpler, and if someone isn’t feeling well enough to attend in person or they fancy a bit of travel nationally (or abroad 🌎), they can still join the meeting virtually and it helps to keep things moving. Remote work has become more than just a necessity; it’s allowed us to work smarter, save time, and connect in ways we never thought possible. And as a Virtual Executive Assistant, I’m here to help you maximise that freedom by taking tasks off you so you can focus on what really matters to you. Let’s chat about how I can support you! Email me at hello@virtuallyjones.co.nz to schedule a free discovery call (virtual coffee included! ☕📧). #RemoteWorkLife #VirtualCoffee #RemoteWork #WorkSmarter #VirtualAssistant #BusinessSupport #WorkFromAnywhere #WorkLifeBalance #MaximiseYourTime #CovidReflections #ProfessionalSupport #VirtualExecutiveAssistant #CollaborationMatters #EfficiencyAtWork #RemoteCollaboration #VirtualMeetings #RemoteProductivity

Remote work is AMAZING, but... Remote work has opened up a world of flexibility, efficiency, and work-life balance. 🌍✨ We’ve mastered the art of Zoom meetings, virtual collaborations, and have even perfected the home office setup. However, there’s something irreplaceable about face-to-face interactions. Whether it’s the spontaneous brainstorming sessions, the energy of team huddles, or just sharing a coffee break, being together can spark creativity and build stronger connections. This week, I had the opportunity to have our whole team together for a few hours. The interactions, smiles, and connections were absolutely invigorating. It reminded me of the magic that happens when we come together in person. So while remote work is here to stay (thank goodness), let’s cherish those moments when we can all come together, even if just once in a while. #RemoteWork #TeamCollaboration #OfficeLife #Balance

💻 How Do We Make Remote Work... Work? 🌍 Remote work is a core part of how we operate, offering flexibility and freedom. However, it comes with its own unique challenges that we've continuously adapted to. Here’s how we do it: 1️⃣ Clear and Regular Communication: We use tools like Slack and Google Meet to stay connected and aligned. 2️⃣ Daily Check-Ins: Quick 15 min online stand-ups every morning help reduce isolation and keep projects on track. 3️⃣ Collaborative Problem-Solving: We hold weekly 60-90 minute sessions where team members collaborate on challenges and brainstorm solutions. 4️⃣ Monthly Co-working: In-person collaboration is also crucial, so once a month, local team members gather at a co-working space to connect and plan together. 5️⃣ Online Meeting Efficiency: We improve meeting productivity by providing clear agendas in advance and inviting only key participants. 6️⃣ Effective Meeting Scheduling: We try to avoid long gaps between meetings (30-90 minutes) that disrupt workflow. Instead, we try to prioritize mornings for meetings and aim for 15-minute breaks between meetings. 🤔 Challenges? Yes! We face distractions, feelings of isolation, and the temptation to overwork. Finding the right balance is key. How do you navigate remote work? Share your tips in the comments! 👇 #RemoteWork #WorkFromHome #Collaboration #Challenges #Teamwork
