In the grand theater of life, there once stood a man who held his title high above his head, believing it to be his crown of invincibility. He reveled in the power he wielded, the accolades that adorned his name, and the sway he had over others. But little did he know, his towering ego was built on the flimsy foundation of arrogance. As time unfurled its tapestry, the echoes of his grandeur faded into obscurity. The titles he clung to so dearly became mere whispers in the winds of time, lost amidst the annals of history. For all his grandiosity, he failed to realize that in the long run, people remember not the titles or the power, but the essence of one's actions. In contrast, there was another soul who trod the path of humility and righteousness. Though devoid of grand titles and ostentatious displays of power, this individual's actions spoke volumes. They walked with humility, guided by the compass of integrity and compassion. While the former may have left behind a legacy tainted by arrogance and self-importance, the latter's deeds resonated through the ages, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those they touched. For in the grand tapestry of life, it is not the height of one's throne that matters, but the depth of one's character and the humility with which they tread their path. #selfrealizationfellowship #leadershipdevelopment #leadership #humility #development #learning

My fellow leaders, As a cinematographer, I know that a great story needs action, not just words. The same is true for our faith. We can't just talk about our beliefs; we need to live them out. ~ In Matthew 5:16, Jesus says, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." ~ Our true purpose is to exercise our faith through action, not just intention. Hi ~ We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, making a tangible difference in the world. ~ As James 1:22 reminds us, "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. ~ Do what it says." Let us lead by example, serving others, and living out our faith in practical ways. Whether in our communities, workplaces, or families, our actions speak louder than our words. ~ Remember, our actions are the script that writes our legacy. Let's make it a story of purpose, faith, and impact! ~ By exercising our faith through action, we can inspire others to do the same, creating a ripple effect of love, hope, and transformation. #FaithAndAction #leadership #LeadingByExample #faith #purposedrivenlife #FaithBasedLiving #PurposefulLeadership #faith #jesus #kingdombusiness #christ #leadershipandpurpose

Thank you Bev James for sharing this inspirational quote by Tony Gaskins "If you can't do anything about it then let it go. Don't be a prisoner to things you can't change." Letting go of things beyond our control can be incredibly liberating. It's about accepting reality as it is, acknowledging our limitations, and channelling our energy towards what we can influence. My top tips are:- 1. Learn to surrender, as the Universe as something better in store for you. 2. Have empathy for yourself when things get tough, remembering nothing is permanent. 3. Be brave and take your next step, no matter how small it is, as you will continue to move towards your next courageous goal. 4. Celebrate your smallest successes and remember you are enough and you have this! 5. Find your strength to keep moving forward while prioritizing your own well-being. From experience I want you to know this is the first step to rising again and coming back stronger.

🧵 Let's talk about what it truly means to be the King of your castle as a father, learning from one of the greatest kings of all time: King David. 🦁👑 David didn’t become king by sitting back. He fought giants, literally! As a shepherd, he defended his sheep from lions. His courage and dedication to protecting his flock set the stage for him to be a great leader. 1. First lesson: Mercy and Forgiveness. David showed mercy even to those who wanted him dead, like Saul and his family. His heart was full of compassion and kindness, welcoming back those who opposed him. As fathers, we must also lead with forgiveness. 2. Next is Honesty and Repentance. David made mistakes, but he owned up to them. He confessed and repented. We, too, should embrace honesty and accountability, showing our families that it’s okay to admit our wrongs and make things right. 3. Leadership and Conquest is another trait of David’s. He expanded his kingdom and unified his people. As fathers, we must guide and unify our families, leading them towards a strong, cohesive, and principled future. 4. David was also known for his Spiritual Sensitivity. He was deeply devoted to God and always sought divine guidance. He knew his limits and acknowledged God’s sovereignty. We should strive to cultivate a humble and prayerful spirit. 5. Lastly, David’s Musical and Literary Contributions remind us of the importance of nurturing our creative sides. Whether it's through music, writing, or other arts, let’s inspire our families to appreciate and create beauty. In summary, being the King of your castle means leading with mercy, honesty, strength, spirituality, and creativity. Let’s look to David as a role model and strive to be better fathers and leaders in our own homes. 🙏🏠 What other traits do you think are essential for fathers to embody? Share your thoughts below! 👇

Do you subscribe to Twain's maxim or are the majority correct merely because it is majority thinking? Read on before you answer that. "Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect." Mark Twain. Antonio Gramsci (Italian politician and philosopher imprisoned by Mussolini for thinking too much) left a dash full of analytical thinking: an encouragement to self reflect, to know the difference between blindly following hegemony (ruling power) and instead making choices out of your deeper and philosophical thinking. Gramsci wrote about the difference between common sense and good sense. Under every piece of common sense is a bigger story (good sense) that serves the influencer and enforcer of that common sense. Every class has their own common sense and good sense but too often the common sense of the dominant class becomes precedented and adopted by the subaltern (under classes) merely because the ruling class believes their philosophies to be correct for everyone. Investigating and deciding whether to accept or reject a piece of common sense is Gramsci's idea of good sense...and fits beautifully with this piece of sense resistance from Mark Twain. Do you subscribe to Twain's maxim or are the majority correct merely because it is majority thinking? 👵 Megan Bayliss: social work supervisor. 🎓 PhD candidate: social and cultural resistance to the status quo. #gramsci #analyticalthinking #organicintellectual

What is the most important virtue for a leader to possess? I think there is a strong argument that can be made for several different virtues including prudence; justice; faith; hope; and love. To me, the most important virtue a leader can possess is humility. Many people reading this have a very poor notion of what humility actually is. It is important that we define what humility isn’t 🚫 —Humility is not self-depracating. —Humility is not a disregard for one’s own well being. —Humility is not a lack of confidence. Here is what humility is❗️ —Knowing the truth about your identity as a son or daughter of God and allowing everything you do to flow from this identity. —Recognizing your strengths & your weaknesses. —Not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less. “He must increase, I must decrease.” —John the Baptist (John 3:30) One of the greatest leaders in my lifetime was Pope John Paul II (now St. John Paul the Great). What I admire most and what so many experienced in meeting Pope John Paul II was his profound humility. He treated every person he met with equal respect for their dignity regardless of whether they were the President of the United States or an orphan. There are countless stories of those who interacted with him that felt like they were meeting Jesus because it seemed as though nothing else mattered to JP II besides the person God placed in front of him. It is quite possible that in his extensive travels JP II interacted with more human beings than anyone else in human history. As my patron saint and person whom I am named after, I believe God has blessed me with a special connection to JP II (his actual papal name in Italian is Giovanni Paolo II). There is much more I could say about the greatness of JP II’s life, but I encourage you to learn more about him if you have not already. There is no limit to the incredible work God can do when He is presented with a humble soul. Come Holy Spirit! 📸 A picture I took from the chapel of Divine Mercy in Rome 🙏🏻

Question: If you could exchange lives with anyone today, who would you choose and why? It might seem like a simple question, but honesty and integrity are important to me. So, expect a few refinements from my end! If given the chance to exchange lives with anyone, I might choose legendary figures like Sultan Muhammad al-Fateh, the conqueror of Constantinople. His visionary leadership, commitment to justice, and contributions to education and cultural enrichment are incredibly inspiring. His strategic brilliance and determination led to remarkable achievements that have left a lasting legacy. But for me, the answer is no. While I deeply admire Sultan Muhammad al-Fateh's accomplishments, I embrace my own unique journey that god has created for me. My life, with all its experiences, challenges, and triumphs, is precious and full of potential. It's often said that "the grass is always greener on the other side." While it's easy to admire the lives of others, it's important to recognize and appreciate the value in our own path. Drawing inspiration from historical figures can guide me in my personal growth and leadership, but it's essential to stay true to my own journey. Each of us has the power to create a positive impact in our own unique way. Let's read some facts about Sultan Muhammad II.

"Setting Your Mind on Things Above" Empowering men of faith to align beliefs with confidence; so, they can live life with purpose, and unlock their authentic leadership style. "Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you." - Walt Whitman Affirmations: "I cultivate a heart of gratitude, focusing on the blessings and promises of God, rather than on temporary setbacks or difficulties." "I embrace the transformative power of setting my mind on things above, allowing God to renew my thoughts and attitudes each day." In Colossians 3:2, the apostle Paul encourages believers to set their minds on things above, not on earthly things. By focusing our thoughts, desires, and aspirations on heavenly realities – such as God's kingdom values – we align ourselves with God's will and experience transformation in our attitudes and behaviors.
