Ammad Manzur, Brunel Law student, who is due to be awarded LLM in International Commercial Law with distinction, recently had his article published by Kluwer Arbitration Blog, a go-to platform for the latest developments and analytical content in the area of international arbitration. Ammad co-authored the article with Rashid Ahmad. The article is titled "Interim Relief under Pakistan’s Proposed Arbitration Act: Promoting Judicial Non-Intervention?", and it highlights "certain provisions of the Draft [Arbitration] Act [2024] which envisage a role for courts that militates against its policy objective of promoting judicial non-intervention in the arbitral process". Over the past few weeks, I had the privilege of completing the University of Leiden's online course, International Law in Action: Arbitration of International Disputes. This course was an enriching educational experience. It offered invaluable insights into the history of arbitration, investment disputes, and contemporary topics like arbitration in relation to the Law of the Sea. With the solid foundation this course provided, I am eager to delve deeper into the field as I tackle the upcoming 32nd Willem C. Law is my field and one of my favourite subjects, focusing on #rights, #justice, #equity, and #conflict resolution. Delving into the judiciary system and #litigation procedures raised many questions and presented numerous challenges. Nowadays, I find myself wondering about the state of justice and its procedures both #nationally and #internationally. #Arbitration is one of the fields that I keep my eyes on. This field, which I chose as the topic for my PhD study, has been a focus of mine since my time at the Permanent Court of Arbitration #PCA and The Hague Academy of International Law in The #Hague. My journey also took me to the European Court of Arbitration in #London, and today, with the International Council in my #Lebanon. As for tomorrow, who knows where this path will lead?! It's worth mentioning the amazing experts who encouraged me to delve more into Arbitration, my university professor Prof. Judge Elie Jobran, Dr.Nabil ALJAWHARI through his fruitful sessions in International Council and my friend Kieran Morgan who has an amazing passion in Arbitration. A new family International Council that I joined and a new field is added to my career. And more steps are waiting to enter.
