Cupper is the first step in production of two-piece can, the production of quality cups is essential to assure quality can production and high efficiency of the entire can making process. Main component of cupper: 1. main motor + sheave. 2. V-belt. 3. flywheel + clutch & brake unit + 2 pinions. 4. crank shaft + 2 main gears. 5. connecting rods (2 outer + 2 inner). 6. outer slide + 2 outer counterbalance. 7. inner slide + 1 inner counterbalance. 8. Gibs. 9. die set (lower punch holder + outer punch holder + inner punchholder). 10. lubrication system. 11. pneumatic system. Principle of operation: The material is indexed into the press, the press outer slide motion leads inner slide motion by 60 degrees, the outer slide tools in conjunction with the lower die holder tools blank and apply pressure to the material after the outer slide completes its downward motion, the inner slide follows and draw the blank into a cup, then cups exit through the bottom of die holder by assistance of electrically timed punch blow-off, then deposited onto air conveyors and conveyed away from the die set.
