When it comes to making virtual interaction real for hosting virtual movie watch parties, I wanted to share a case study from a few years ago where Cya Live hosted a movie watch party and Q&A with VISION FILMS, INC where users had the opportunity to watch a documentary film about legendary and iconic boxer Muhammad Ali called Ali's Comeback: The Untold Story and then interact and engage in an immersive way in a Q&A with the principals involved in the film. In an early showcase of Ali's Comeback: The Untold Story, users had the chance to participate in an exclusive live and interactive online event to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the famous Ali vs. Quarry fight that took place in Atlanta, Georgia in 1970. Digital creative media, like a lot of industries, has had a wild ride in the last few years and faced its fair share of challenges. Dramatic rapid changes in media consumption habits and business models, fluctuating production constraints and escalating costs, and flat consumer spending against a backdrop of rising prices have been difficult to navigate for VFX, animation, and videogames studios. The digital creative community in Wellington has not been exempt from these challenges. But with typical Kiwi spirit, we've spent the last couple of years with heads down, grinding away, working past these issues and towards the new opportunities that such industry turbulence also brings.
