Yes, this BMW leaves the factory without a driver. What was usually done by drivers is now done automatically at the BMW Group's Dingolfing plant. It is technologically interesting that not the car manages its autonomous driving, but the biggest LIDAR infrastructure in Europe is guiding the vehicle. Jan Burian, thank you for bringing this up! ----------- Follow Michal Ukropec for more 3D, digitization, and Industry 4.0 trends | #innovation #startup #digitaltwin
Michal Ukropec This looks amazing, but I find it a bit scary that a vehicle’s steering can be controlled by an external system. I assume this system is physically removed before the car enters regular roads.
Nice car and technology
Ist doch toll, wenn bald alle Waren nur noch von Maschinen und "KI" gefertigt und gesteuert werden. Bleibt mehr Zeit und Geld für die Menschen, um diese zu konsumieren... oh wait.
Really cool. But why is the car controlled by LIDAR and not by the car itself? This way you could test autonomous driving on the factory premises Michal Ukropec, Jan Burian?
Luxusni videjko 👏🤝👏
Why?, a car is for driving, if you want to be driven around get a taxi!
The traditional enterprises like BMW and VW shall be hurry up for smart vehicles or it will be less and less proportion in China market. eg. One or two models with Huawei's solution could escape from flood at midnight automatically from the carbarn while the owners might be at sound sleep...
A video that pushes the boundaries of luxury, automation and professionalism Michal Ukropec future of manufacturing is truly here with automated driving in the BMW factory...
The future of automotive manufacturing is here, and it's looking pretty incredible. It's fascinating to think about how technology is revolutionizing industries like this.
I woukd like to get to know the level of security invested here coz this is pretty seruious for a car that quality. Viewing at an angle of theft or worse
