INSPIRE is heartbroken by the devastation caused by Hurricanes Milton and Helene. Our priority is the safety and well-being of our local team members, partners, and clients, and we’re actively checking in with them to provide support during this challenging time. If you're looking for ways to contribute to the ongoing disaster relief efforts, here are two organizations making a difference: Florida Disaster Fund: The official private fund for the state, helping Florida’s communities respond and recover in times of crisis. Hurricane Helene has devastated parts of the southeastern United States, especially northwestern North Carolina, northwestern South Carolina and eastern Georgia. We are keeping all the YMCAs affected in those regions, your staff, and your communities in our thoughts and prayers. ❤️ If you want to help, there are a few immediate ways to do so: Contribute to the Employee Assistance Fund, which provides financial aid to Y staff in need after natural disasters and other crises. Staff who have been impacted can apply for support at this same link https://bit.ly/4dyxsq6 Donate to the Hurricane Helene Relief Fund. Y-USA has created this centralized relief fund and will work with Alliance leaders to distribute donations to YMCA associations that need them most, to aid near-term efforts to get damaged facilities back up and running and to support long-term recovery. https://bit.ly/3N75s2c

It's hard to put into words the sites and scenes we are watching unfold in our beautiful state. Western North Carolina is absolutely devastated from the catastrophic and historical flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. Places many of us have visited are absolutely decimated, and those who call these beautiful towns home are not only displaced but also desperate for support. The recovery won't end in the next few days - or even the next few weeks. It will take months, if not years, for these areas to recover and begin restoring some sense of normalcy. We each have an opportunity to ask ourselves: what if this was me? And once you reflect on that question, I encourage every person in my network to consider how you can contribute to this recovery effort. Join Jason Rymer and me in donating to United Way of North Carolina. Their fund will support both the short- and long-term efforts in Western N.C. If you'd prefer to give in other ways, consider giving to the local chapter of the Red Cross, Samaritan's Purse and World Central Kitchen -- each of these organizations has local responders on the ground. It's time to band together. It's time to spark the collective power of community giving. It's time to rebuild our state. It's time to support our fellow Carolinians. #HurricaneHelene #GiveBack #SupportWNC
United Way of North Carolina (UWNC) is proud to announce the launch of its UW Helps NC Fund, an initiative designed to support both immediate and long-term recovery efforts in communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. The Duke Energy Foundation is making a generous donation of $100,000 to the Governor’s NC Disaster Relief Fund, a state fund which is also managed by United Way of North Carolina. This partnership with Governor Roy Cooper's office and THE DUKE ENERGY FOUNDATION has matched UWNC’s fundraising efforts, doubling what has been raised to date, thanks to the collective giving power of our community. The first time I moved to Florida in 2004, there were 3 #hurricanes that I experienced that year. I remember asking "is this normal?" Luckily it was not normal. But living back in Florida has me thinking about hurricanes again. Fortunately, SBP thinks about natural disasters all the time! Although they can't prevent them, they can help disaster survivors recover faster. They are a #nonprofit that was created after Hurricane Katrina, and have been working on ways to prepare communities inside and outside of New Orleans for disasters, and support them in the aftermath with home rebuilding. They have continuously improved their processes with the support of Toyota Motor Corporation and their #TSSC consultants. We recognized them for their efforts with the 2024 Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers "Excellence in Sustainable Development" award. A donation to SBP ensures that in the wake of the next disaster, impacted families can receive immediate assistance. Today as I stopped by Red Cross to make a donation for those in Western North Carolina impacted by the hurricane something came to mind. Having worked with and for nonprofits for over 8 years, I've learned that one of the best ways to help those impacted by disasters like hurricanes is to streamline donations. Instead of sending mixed supplies, consider buying *all* of one thing. It helps organizations and volunteers move faster and get essentials to those in need in a more timely manner. Let’s make an impact together! And remember, wanting to help at ALL makes you a kind human. Every effort counts! 💜 Here are a few national organizations making a difference: - American Red Cross (redcross.org) - Direct Relief (directrelief.org) - World Central Kitchen (wck.org) #HurricaneRelief #NonprofitSupport #DonateSmart #DisasterRelief

Here’s an update from our President!
Next Saturday, I'll be jumping from an airplane (for the first time ever) in support of the Gary Sinise Foundation and their hurricane relief efforts. I want to thank so many who have shown their support by donating! We just raised the goal to $75,000! I’m especially honored that Micky and Madeleine Arison through their MICKY AND MADELEINE ARISON FAMILY FOUNDATION have offered their support by matching funds! And a special thank you to Sports Illustrated for their coverage as I'm not the most athletic person! https://lnkd.in/eBaG-AjB If you'd like to support or learn more, here's the link to donate: https://lnkd.in/e5ZbqC8a #skydive #hurricanerelief

Dear network, Amidst the difficult news that has been impacting Rio Grande do Sul in recent days, I would like to share something of extreme importance and urgency with you all. Floods have devastated entire communities, leaving families without homes, belongings, and, in many cases, without hope. It is in times like these that our solidarity and empathy become crucial. Therefore, I'm here to share the link to a fundraiser that has been initiated to help these families rebuild their lives. Every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, makes a significant difference. Let's come together, let's extend our hands and our hearts to those who need it most. Together, we can bring a ray of hope to these affected communities. The link to the fundraiser is here https://lnkd.in/eWYDT_cA. In this challenging time, let us maintain strength and faith. With love, solidarity, and action, we can overcome any adversity. I count on you all. Warm regards, Fernando Amidst the floods that have inundated Rio Grande do Sul, we raise this channel of hope. A historic flood has left a trail of destruction, carrying away not only homes and belongings but also dreams and aspirations. Now, more than ever, these families need our support, which is why we are opening this donation channel. Every penny raised will be carefully channeled in the form of direct donations of furniture and appliances to the families of São Leopoldo, one of the hardest-hit by this tragedy. https://gofund.me/a35514a7
