True or False? A resume and a CV can be used interchangably, when applying for new roles. FALSE! ➡️ A CV provides a comprehensive account of your academic and professional journey. It is typically much longer than a standard resume. Some industries that may require a CV include: ↳ Education ↳ Science ↳ Research Think of it as your professional biography where the story is in the details. ➡️ A resume is a concise highlight reel of your career, tailored to the specific role you're targeting. It typically spans one to two pages and showcases your most relevant skills, experience, and achievements for the job. Whether your journey aligns best with a detailed CV or a succinct resume, remember, the goal is the same 👉 to present your unique story and qualifications in a way that resonates with the role you're applying for. . . . #LetsGetYouHired #ProfessionalDevelopment #Resume #CV #DallasResumeWriter #HoustonResumeWriter #InterviewPrepCoach

Don't overcook your resume! Writing down your career history and making it look attractive to potential employers are two different things. Depending on the roles you're applying for, skew the resume towards the elements of your experience most relevant to the job you're trying to land. Avoid writing down every single element of your past roles, focus on the most relevant parts of your recent experience that help connect the dots for potential employers. Avoid lengthy bios written in the third person. Do write a short bio about your experience and what role you want to move into. Writing a short paragraph describing the function of each of your roles can help employers easily understand if your experience aligns. Add 5-7 bullet points under each role, and keep it succinct. Depending on the length of your career, expand on the last 5-7 years and simply list the rest. Add some colour to make it stand out. List any relevant education and certificates on the first page at the top. A catchy cover letter, describing why you're interested in the role/company and how your experience is relevant can help too. Unfortunately, when job hunting there are no silver bullets. Making sure your resume is up to scratch is one element you can control that can make all the difference. Feel free to reach out if you need a hand with your resume, always happy to help.
