We share a vision of a prosperous, resilient, inclusive #Africa where all citizens can thrive and reach their potential. This shared vision can be achieved through the collective efforts of African governments, institutions, and citizens. Over the past three decades, The African Capacity Building Foundation has worked on building individuals' skills and enhancing the capacity of institutions and communities. Our efforts have been instrumental in shaping the #Agenda2063 vision of “The Africa We Want”—an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa driven by its people and representing a dynamic force in the global arena. Through our diverse capacity-building initiatives, training programs, research, and advisory services, we have supported the development of capable states and institutions, empowered individuals and organizations, and facilitated resource mobilization for sustainable development across the continent. We deeply appreciate and value the partnership of African governments, institutions, development partners, and citizens in these endeavors. Looking ahead, ACBF will intensify our efforts. 🌍 Wilson Quarterly: A Continent of Consequence I am honored to have contributed to the latest issue of the Wilson Quarterly, emphasizing Africa as “A Continent of Consequence” and delving into Africa’s dynamic and transformative role in the world today. Africa is not just a continent of untapped resources; it is a cradle of ideas, a wellspring of inspiration, and a beacon of possibility for the world. Africa’s moment is here. It is a continent defined not by its challenges but by its extraordinary potential—and by the determination of its people to realize that potential. With the world’s youngest population and a surge of technological innovation, Africa is poised to lead the world in solving some of humanity’s greatest challenges. I enjoyed reflecting on the power of Africa’s youth as the architects of a new future and how technology is unlocking opportunities that were once unimaginable—in agriculture, healthcare, and education. These shifts are not just transforming the continent; they hold lessons for the world on resilience, ingenuity, and sustainable growth. However, Africa cannot achieve its full potential in isolation. The global community must step forward—not as benefactors, but as equal partners—investing in Africa’s growth, fostering innovation, and ensuring that African voices are heard and valued in global governance. From 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to African Union Agenda 2063, the importance of industrialization has been recognized for African countries in economic growth, technology innovation, poverty eradication and employment creation. As we observe the Africa Industrialization Day today, and in light of the Third Industrial Development Decade for Africa (2016-2025) proclaimed by the General Assembly in 2016, I encourage the international community to actively support the industrialization in Africa, and to firmly anchor the African continent on a path towards inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
