*Do Corn Tillers (Suckers) Help or Hurt Yields?* Farming Chronicles Unveiled Corn tillers, also known as suckers, have sparked debate among farmers for nearly a century. Unlike wheat and small grains, where tillering is beneficial, corn tillers' impact on yields was uncertain. *Cause of Tillers* Tillers form at lower nodes due to: 1. Genetic makeup of the hybrid 2. Soil fertility 3. Early-season growing conditions 4. Plant population and spacing *Effects on Yields* Research from the 1930s revealed: 1. Removing tillers doesn't increase yields and often reduces them. 2. Tillers contribute to grain production, especially in low-density stands. 3. Tillers support main plant growth through nutrient sharing. *Conditions Where Tillers Might Hurt Yields* 1. Exceptional drought after favorable spring conditions, leading to excessive transpiration. 2. Low plant populations, potentially depleting water resources. *Key Takeaways* 1. Tillers rarely harm yields under normal conditions. 2. Check stand density and distribution before blaming the hybrid. 3. Tillers can increase yields in low-density stands. *Best Practices* 1. Optimize plant population and spacing. 2. Maintain soil fertility and moisture. 3. Choose hybrids with beneficial tillering traits. 4. Monitor weather conditions to mitigate potential yield impacts. Hello everyone! 👐🏽 Today, let's delve into the specifics of a powerful liquid fertilizer from our product line - Wonder Leaf Grass. 🌿 This is a complex fertilizer containing an optimized set of macro-, meso- and microelements. The fertilizer contains: - 10% Total Nitrogen; - 5% Phosphorus Pentoxide; - 3% Potassium Oxide; - 3% Magnesium Oxide; - 13% Sulfur Trioxide; - 0.7% Zinc Chelate; - 0.3% Boron; - 3% Amino acids on vegetable origin.. This fertilizer is meticulously formulated to enhance plant growth processes through its high concentration of nitrogen, sulfur and zinc. 🦠 This dynamic trio optimally stimulates growth. Wonder Leaf Grass is particularly recommended during the most critical phenological stages of plant development. While it shows excellent results on turfgrass, its universal formulation makes it highly applicable for various other agronomic crops. 🌱 - BBCH 31-39 (**leaf elongation**); ☘️ - BBCH 41-49 (**growth and development of vegetative organs**). 🌶 - BBCH 71-79 (**fruit and seed development in vegetables**); 🧅 We recommend applying Wonder Leaf Grass through fertigation at a concentration of 0.1-0.2% or 1-2 liters per ton of water. For a single application, we suggest using 10 liters of the product. ✅ If you have any inquiries or wish to make an order for Wonder Leaf Grass, our manager is always available to assist! 📞👇🏽 🌏 WONDER - and the Earth is proud 🌿 #wonderleaf #fertilizer #harvest #agronomy #boron #farmer
