Happy Veterans Day to all the brave men and women who served our country! Here is a recap for last month's Expert Hour. A customer had problems with their melt strength. They used the Rheotens for years in R&D to select the right materials and to develop new compounds with their vendors. Consistent and reliable melt strength is a vital part of their success overall. Recently, they added more and more recycled material. Although post industrial recyclate is much more consistent, they did run into problems in production, even though the Rheotens testing should promising results for this new compound mix. After more testing, it was found that the recyclate has sufficient variability- at times - to trigger problems. They are now using our D-Melt to quickly test all batches before they are used in production. The D-Melt is a combination melt indexer / melt strength measurement instrument that gives both values in one test run and compliments the more involved testing with their RG capillary rheometer and Rheotens. If you would like more information on our D-Melts check our website. https://lnkd.in/eMnznkZB

Here’s a short video on why we design and build the best quality gaskets. After all, the gasket is the heart of the fitting and has to operate all day every day over the life of the fitting. We design and test for the minimum life expectancy of 50 years. In practise however, when installed using the correct bolt torque this will be greatly extended.
