WHY AVIATION?!? Stable Career With Job Security..... In today’s economy, it can be difficult to find a career that is both stable and secure. However, those who choose to become aircraft mechanics can enjoy both of these benefits. Aircraft mechanics are responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on airplanes and helicopters. Due to the technical nature of the job, aircraft mechanics must have a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems. They also need to be able to work in small spaces and pay close attention to detail. While the work can be challenging, it is also rewarding. Aircraft mechanics typically work in teams and are able to see the results of their labor every time a plane takes off or lands safely. In addition, they can take pride in knowing that they are helping to keep the skies safe for both passengers and crew members. For those who are looking for a stable career with job security, becoming an aircraft mechanic is a great choice. #ais #advancedinnovativesolutions #nowhiring

As I reflect on my journey in aeronautical maintenance, I've come to appreciate that aging in our field brings a unique privilege: the opportunity to pass on decades of knowledge to the next generation. While I've typically focused more on doing than advising, today I'd like to share some insights for young professionals looking to build a career in aircraft maintenance. Professional Tips: 1. Master the fundamentals before rushing to specialize. Understanding basic aircraft systems and maintenance principles will serve as your foundation for everything that follows. 2. Documentation is as important as the technical work itself. Your logbook entries and maintenance records will follow that aircraft for years – treat them with the same precision you apply to your maintenance tasks. 3. Stay current with technology, but never forget the core mechanical principles. Modern aircraft are increasingly digital, but understanding how things work mechanically will help you troubleshoot more effectively. 4. Build relationships with experienced technicians. The most valuable lessons often come from watching how senior mechanics approach problems and manage unexpected situations. Personal Growth Advice: 1. Develop patience. Quality aircraft maintenance can't be rushed, and learning to do things right takes time. This isn't just about career growth – it's about safety and responsibility. 2. Embrace continuous learning. Our field evolves constantly with new aircraft models and maintenance procedures. Make learning a daily habit, not just a requirement. 3. Take pride in your work, but stay humble. Every day on the job can teach you something new, regardless of your experience level. 4. Remember that aviation maintenance isn't just a job – it's a commitment to safety. Every task you complete affects the lives of countless passengers and crew members. Looking back, these principles have guided me through challenges and successes alike. To the young professionals joining our field: your role is crucial to aviation safety. Take advantage of the knowledge around you, ask questions, and remember that every experienced technician started exactly where you are today. #AviationMaintenance #CareerAdvice #MentorshipMatters #AviationSafety #ProfessionalDevelopment

Good news from #techops #mros. #aviationmaintenancetechnician numbers rising according to Aviation Technician Education Council 2024 Pipeline report. The Pipeline Report, produced annually by #ATEC and Oliver Wyman to spotlight U.S. #airframeandpowerplant (A&P) #mechanicworkforce trends, highlights several encouraging developments. Among them: new mechanic certificates jumped 32% in 2023, enrollment at aviation maintenance technician schools (#AMTS) was up 6%, and the #militarypathway for new mechanic certifications continued its strong, annual double-digit growth pattern, as 32% more veterans obtained FAA A&P certification compared to 2022. And bad news as industry will fall short of #workforce requirements. Gains are insufficient to meet #commercialaviation's projected needs amid rising demand for air travel for the next decade. The current shortage is estimated at 9% and will reach nearly 20%--equivalent to about 25,000 certificated mechanics--by 2028, the report finds. The percentage of women among newly certificated #AandPmechanics is rising, but slowly. Women make up just 2.8% of the mechanic population, up from 2.2% a decade ago. Rates in the pipeline are slightly better: 6.7% of new AMTS-sourced certificated mechanics are women, compared to 4% of those sourced from military or civilian experience. As I posted earlier: Survey respondents report an average starting hourly rate for AMTS alumni with an FAA certificate to be $31.58 per hour (or $63,160 annually), an increase of 12% from a year ago. Today, certificated mechanics are making 24% more than their peers that graduated just 2 years ago.5 Starting hourly pay for A&P graduates without a mechanic license is $21.17 per hour, an increase of 7% over last year. This is more than $21,700 a year less than their certificated peers make, however. These figures track broadly with US Bureau of Labor Statistics data that shows median pay for mechanics and technicians, certificated and uncertificated, is about $36.60 per hour, or $75,500 per year.
