I believe that each passenger on this Singapore Airlines flight, which was traveling over Myanmar during this incident, deserves a minimum compensation of $1 million USD. The traumatic experience they endured is unimaginable and warrants such recompense. Moreover, it is imperative to investigate why a commercial aircraft was flying over Myanmar during such a volatile period. Myanmar is currently embroiled in a civil war, raising serious questions about the safety protocols in place. Have we not learned from past tragedies, such as the downing of Flight MH17 over Ukraine? It seems we are doomed to repeat our mistakes unless stringent measures are taken to prevent commercial flights from flying over conflict zones. #singaporeairlines #compensation #myanmar

LESSON LEARNED I've come to understand that the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) environment affects all industries, including aviation. To thrive in this dynamic landscape, thorough preparation and well-thought-out planning are crucial during preflight phase. Staying ahead of the curve by leveraging data analytics and generative AI can be a game-changer in today's rapidly changing climate. Safety and service must go hand-in-hand during flight. Implementing six sigma approaches can help reduce waste and inefficiencies, while crew resource management could definitely enhance safety. Regularly reevaluating and enhancing our Total Quality Management for #service and Threat Error Management for #safety is essential. Effective crisis management is critical, and integrating Safety Management Systems (SMS) from top to bottom is vital. This mindset must be ingrained in every stakeholder in the aviation industry, particularly airlines. When dealing with incidents or accidents, providing updated and precise data information to survivors and their families is paramount. That's my two cents on navigating the challenges in global aviation during the post-pandemic era, geopolitics tensions, and unstable environment. I hope this insight can contribute to a brighter future for our industry. #turbulence #condolences #B777 #SQ321

Professionalism. We all know that Singapore Airlines suffered a very major incident this week. While the incident is being investigated, what Singapore Airlines has done immediately and in the hours and days after has showcased their utmost professionalism and more importantly, the company's ethos & culture. CEO stepped up to apologise and laid out with clarity that the company will do whatever possible to assist those affected. No putting up excuses; no reciting of legalese to protect their behinds. Swift action to send their people to Bangkok. Arrange for relief flight. Have as many back in Singapore as quickly as possible. Putting out immediate (policy) changes to in-flight meal service. Now, we read about how they are going the extra-mile to help retrieve mobile devices and personal effects. You are top class, SQ. You really are. https://lnkd.in/gRzWQTEB

Hi dear PM Wong, The SIA crew’s crisis management performance is impressive, on the other hand, the incident shows that there’re always a need to improve the safety and security of air travel in the airline industry. For instance, instruments (AI optimised) that could provide advanced meteorological forecasts/ data, on weather changes, such as invisible air turbulences, and that could activate “early warnings”signals to alert air passengers will do much to prevent injuries; will enable the pilot to make even higher quality decisions, imho. == … instantly activate “put on safety belt” signal/ siren, during clear sky days, that makes air turbulences so invisible to the naked eyes, imho.
I was relieved to hear that 131 passengers and 12 crew onboard Singapore Airlines flight SQ321 have safely returned to Singapore early this morning. Singapore Airlines had flown a plane with their staff to bring these passengers and crew back. The Transport Safety Investigation Bureau under the Ministry of Transport, Singapore will conduct a thorough investigation. On behalf of the government and people of Singapore, I thank the authorities in Thailand for their support in providing medical assistance and looking after the affected passengers and crew. My deepest condolences once again to the family and loved ones of the deceased. I also hope and pray that those who are injured will recover and return home soon.
