In 2021, I planned a week-long motorbike trip to Ladakh in the Himalayas with friends. The trip was a surreal experience that I cherish to date. However, planning the trip was anything but memorable. As a professional, all I had was barely 2 hours per day in hand after work. It took two straight months of what seemed like endless browsing to put together everything, coordinate and get approval from our group, and finalize the bookings. Fast forward to my MBA in 2023, during the project-style entrepreneurship courses, I realized it was a big pain point in the market, and TravExp was born. The problem with the current state of planning is - scattered pieces of travel info across sites, scarcity of persona-specific experiences, and a lack of intuitive platforms to visualize and modify the plan. The solution was simple - leverage the best tech to create a platform to browse, plan, and share experiences to save hours planning so we can focus more on actually living them.
