The dilemma of the day: which is better, working on commercial or private jets as cabin crew? 🤔 Here are 5 main differences between the two to help make up your mind! 1. Schedules. Unlike commercial aircraft crews, private ones have no schedule or roster, and the work is very much on demand. This means that you have to be way more flexible. 2. Salary. Due to extra responsibilities, private jet flight attendants’ salaries tend to be higher than average compared to commercial crew. However, it depends on the operator and other factors, such as rotation or how often you fly. 🛫 3. Duties. Private jet cabin crews have a lot more work to do outside the actual flights. It might include ordering the catering, restocking supplies, cleaning the aircraft after each flight, and more. 4. Teams. If you decide to fly commercially, you’ll always have a team of cabin crew to support you if needed. In the case of private jets, the size of the team depends on the aircraft, duration of flight, and the number of passengers on board. However, many private flights only require one flight attendant, which means you’ll often work by yourself. 5. Aircraft. Flight attendants on private jets usually work on just one or two planes, so they get to know them really well, whereas airline cabin crew might only fly on the same plane a few times in their entire career.
