#MSCCruises and the Finnish shipyard #MeyerTurku have entered negotiations to develop a new generation of mega cruise ships. The recent trend towards larger vessels has led the #Aponte group to collaborate with the Finnish shipyard for the first time, as Fincantieri and Chantiers de l'Atlantique have recently frozen the latest orders from Carnival, NorwegianCruiseLine, and RoyalCaribbean. If the deal is finalized, the project will involve designing a class of ships exceeding 250,000 tons, surpassing the #IconoftheSeas, currently the world's largest ship at 248,000 tons. Construction could begin in 2028. Regarding the layout, one possibility is that the design will be based on the #NEcOLEAP project, a visionary concept for a zero-emission mega ship presented by the Meyer Group at the recent #SeatradeCruiseGlobal in #Miami. This collaboration marks a promising step forward for #MSCCruises, showcasing their commitment to innovation and sustainability. The potential to create the world's largest and most environmentally friendly cruise ship opens up exciting new possibilities for the future of maritime travel. We look forward to seeing the transformative impact this groundbreaking project will have on the industry. #MSC #Cruise #MSCCruise #cruiseship #breakingnews #news #render

Historic Cambridge Aerodrome Tasmania for sale by Raine and Horne A cornerstone of Tasmania’s aviation history, Cambridge Aerodrome for sale by Raine and Horne agent Leslie Simpson. The Cambridge Aerodrome holds a rich history. Purchased by the Australian Government in 1934, it served as Hobart’s main airport until the opening of the nearby Hobart International Airport in 1956. Since 1992, the Wells family, owners of Par Avion and Airlines of Tasmania, the aerodrome's main tenants, has privately owned and operated Cambridge Aerodrome. This key hub supports general aviation, including emergency services, scenic flights, and pilot training. Par Avion and Airlines of Tasmania occupy most of the site, providing chartered flights, scenic wilderness tours, and pilot training. Mr Simpson confirmed, "We already have aviation businesses interested in building on the Wells family's legacy, as well as developers considering the re-zoning potential of the utilities portion of the site that is approximately 31.5 hectares. In addition, there is already light industrial land parcels (around 3.4 hectares) with significant underlying value. “It’s a big piece of potential industrial land within arguably Tasmania’s highest growth industrial-commercial precinct featuring 196 metres of frontage to busy Kennedy Drive.” Read more on The INDUSTRIALIST: https://lnkd.in/g54bSbZr The ASEAN Developer The Hotel Conversation COMMO Raine & Horne Group Raine & Horne Commercial Shaun Mathieson Mark Nicholls Mark (Mahmoud) Ammoun Dain Cairns Shannon Wells Airlines of Tasmania (Par Avion) Don Wells #hobartrealestate #airportnews #aviationnews #aviationindustry #industrialland #supplychain #industrildevelopment #logisticsnews #logisticsindustry #airports #paravion #tasmaniabusiness

I was delighted to represent London Gatwick at the launch of Sustainable Aviation’s Manifesto for UK Leadership in Parliament this week. The manifesto reiterates our industry’s unwavering commitment to achieving net zero aviation by 2050. This crucial initiative outlines a roadmap for how the next Government can ensure that the UK leads the world in sustainable aviation by accelerating and driving policy support for UK Sustainable Aviation Fuel production, airspace modernisation and the development of zero carbon aircraft. It is clear that airlines, engine manufacturers, fuel providers and airports across the UK and further afield all share the same goals. With a collaborative industry-wide approach, alongside significant investment and government backing– net zero is within our reach. https://lnkd.in/epBw3BQM

In June this year, Japan committed to advancing Advanced Air Mobility by willingness of funding the construction of the country's first Vertiport. The Ministry of Transport is backing the practical rollout of flying cars by subsidizing up to 50% of the construction costs for Vertiports — designated takeoff and landing areas — developed by local governments and private companies. The subsidy is capped at ¥50 million ($313,500) per site. Once these initial facilities are built and operational tests are complete, the ministry aims to establish guidelines for future vertiport construction, possibly as early as the fiscal year starting in April 2026. Do you believe that's the right approach to push the infrastructure towards future developments?

On Wednesday, I had the pleasure to reach the UIC - International union of railways #UICrail #nighttrain working group in my new position. More than 20 experts from all over #Europe, online or not, gathered to share experiences and projects, in order to reinvent the night train offer. Also very interesting presentation from Alstom about new rolling stock and European Sleeper that develop new lines across Europe. Did you know that: ✅ Forecasts see the number of passengers in night train could be x3 in 2030? ✅ A huge refurbishment and/or renewal of rail car coaches will be necessary, more or less for any operator? ✅ The challenges for night trains are quite true everywhere (timetabling vs works on rail infrastructure, business model, …), which means #cooperation is necessary? Thanks to Sven Pöllauer, Chairman of the Group and Michele Gesualdi from my team for the preparation. #uic #europe #railway #fortheplanet #tourism #toprail #passenger
