Intersectionality in Advocacy Intersectionality is a crucial concept in advocacy, highlighting how various forms of discrimination overlap. In Kenya, understanding intersectionality is vital for addressing issues that affect women, minorities, and marginalized groups. Advocates must recognize that solutions need to be inclusive and holistic. For example, gender-based violence disproportionately affects women, especially those from marginalized communities. Advocacy efforts must consider these intersections to create effective strategies for change. How can we ensure that our advocacy efforts are more inclusive? Yesterday I had the privilege of attending our #SRAG quarterly event in Birmingham. Welsh employers 🏴 what are you doing about social value in your business? Are you shaping the future of talent and communities? Whether you are or you aren’t, it’s never to late but now really is the time for you to start thinking about society and how we can create a real difference by coming together and working in collaboration with the amazing partners and social enterprises. Employers play a crucial role in fostering social value by not only focusing on their bottom line but also considering the broader impact of their operations on society. The future of our young people, following the results of the England youth census is bleak and I can only imagine how bleak this picture looks in our Welsh landscape. Rural areas and disjoineted transport are huge factors to consider in Wales. Yesterday I had initial discussions with Max from RideTandem | B Corp™ who explained the complexities in greater depth with a solutions approach. Our Social Receuitment Advocy Group joins the dots by bringing together enthused and likeminded individuals who are passionate about making change. If you’d like to hear more about our #SRAG and how we can work with you to support you and your supply chain, please do reach out. By coming together as responsible employers and advocating for social value, we can indeed create a meaningful impact. We have to act, faster than we ever have before, hidden talent and our future generations should be at the heart of all we do. The Social Recruitment Advocacy Group gathered today to hear about the voice of young people from Lauren Mistry, Youth Employment UK, to discuss how we support social recruitment and increase our social impact, hear from experts such as Amey (who also sponsored the event), and Springpod - topped off with a panel discussion on the future of the funding landscape. Thanks to everyone who attended and helped to make it another fantastic and insightful event. #SocialImpact #SocialValue #SocialRecruitment #SocialMobility #Inclusion #Opportunity #WhatWeDoMatters
