Japan, it's time to showcase your allure and secure a prominent place on the list of must-see destinations. The concerns of over-tourism can be allayed, as Japan has the capacity to accommodate high visitor numbers. Beneath the surface, Japan offers a wealth of attractions beyond the well-known cities of Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hokkaido, and Okinawa. Japan consists of 47 prefectures, each boasting distinctive attractions. Given its substantial size, it can accommodate over 3 million tourists monthly. It is advisable to look beyond prominent landmarks such as Mt. Fuji, Niseko's ski resorts, and Osaka's Glico man to explore the country's hidden gems. https://lnkd.in/gERjWdR8 #andrewtanatomisingapore #theatomiway #atomi #JapanGuru #japan #japaneseyen

Japan's "Zombie Shinkansen" not only showcases a thrilling new attraction but also highlights Japan’s forward-thinking approach to experiential tourism. Events like these breathe life into the country's famed Shinkansen system, drawing tourists seeking unique experiences that go beyond traditional sightseeing. With the demand for innovative attractions rising, this event taps into the booming popularity of Halloween in Japan, blending entertainment, culture, and adventure. For JR Central, initiatives like the Zombie Shinkansen demonstrate a strategy to diversify tourism offerings, creating memorable and shareable experiences for both domestic and international visitors. This aligns seamlessly with Japan's broader tourism goals to rejuvenate travel post-pandemic and solidify its position as a leader in experiential tourism. Our clients can't wait to explore unforgettable events like this and discover new sides of Japan that leave a lasting impression. #ExperientialMarketing, #TourismInnovation, #EventMarketing, #JapanTravel, #HalloweenEvents, #ImmersiveExperiences #TravelIndustry #ExperientialTourism #TravelInnovation #ImmersiveExperience #JapanTravel #mtj #mtjtravel

160 Yen Well, that mark got broken today, back down, below 160, but still. At the same time, tourists are overunning the country's hotspots. On a walk last night in Minato-ku, we saw group after group of foreign tourists taking selfies of anything that moved (ok, mainly Tokyo Tower but still) The solution? Higher-end tourists, people will money to burn. As the article states, Japan is primed for luxury tourism. Except it isn't. The infrastructure is simply not there, spotty wi-fi, mislabeled menus, hotel directions, everything. High-flying tourists expect to be pampered and have little patience and outside of the 5-star hotels in Tokyo, this will be a tough road ahead. 1% of tourists driving 14% of tourist dollars (like a reverse 80/20 rule), is a great target, but will be costly and difficult. However, with all the foreign money pouring into Japanese companies, perhaps things will be sped up a little more than usual and this opportunity can be captured. Overtourism is a real issue. You really can have too much of a good thing. Japan is facing it, Thailand is getting concerned about it, and now Spain is feeling it too. Want to plan for integrated resorts and tens of millions of tourists? Get your house in order first. #howibuiltanintegratedresort

Japan is experiencing an unprecedented surge in tourism, driven by the yen's historic low and a global post-pandemic travel boom. In the first five months of this year, over 14.5 million visitors arrived, marking a 70% increase from last year and potentially surpassing 2019's record of 31 million. Tourists, particularly from South Korea, China, Taiwan, and the U.S., are flocking to Japan for its affordability and attractions, spending a record ¥1.75 trillion in the first quarter. Despite rising hotel prices, Japan remains a cost-effective destination compared to other major cities, though the influx is straining local infrastructure.
