🚨 Child Labour: A Grim Reality We Can't Ignore 🚨 Every day, we witness (if we are not comfortably numb) the heartbreaking scenes of child labour around us. Tiny children chasing after goats, kids on garbage heaps sorting through rubbish for saleable plastic, or being exploited as free interns. It’s time to acknowledge this crisis and take action. At Diya Ghar, we offer hope for some of these children, providing them with a safe space to learn and grow, away from hazardous conditions. Today, on World Day Against Child Labour, we join the global movement to end this inhumane practice. Every child deserves a childhood full of dreams, play, and education. Yet, millions are trapped in a cycle of exploitation and hardship. The United Nations emphasizes the link between social justice and child labour, urging us all to focus our efforts on eradicating this issue. You can make a difference! For just INR 4,250/- per month, or you can sponsor a child for a year, giving them the care and opportunities they need to thrive. 🌟 Donate Now: https://lnkd.in/gFGZNy9H Let’s come together to build a future where every child can experience the joy and freedom of childhood. #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour #EndChildLabour #SupportChildren #DiyaGhar #SponsorAChild #SocialJustice #DonateNow ---------- ---------- Me. On June 12, we observe the World Day Against Child Labour, aiming to ignite a global movement to end child labour. The United Nations believes that with focused efforts on the primary causes and recognizing the link between social justice and child labour, we can eradicate this issue. Every child deserves to experience childhood in a safe and nurturing environment, free from the burden of manual labour. Unfortunately, many children in impoverished nations still face physical and emotional exploitation. At Diya Ghar, we are dedicated to protecting these vulnerable children and ensuring their well-being and development. Would you consider making a difference by sponsoring a child for a year with just INR 4,250/- for a month? Your support can provide a child with the care and opportunities they need to thrive. What’s your highest purpose? I chose to start my own business for a variety of reasons, including choosing my own schedule and the people I work with, being able to work anywhere in the world with an Internet connection, and discovering what I love (writing and helping holistic health care become more widely understood and accessible). But there’s a deeper purpose. I already am donating, and will donate more, to causes I support, including organizations that save and rehabilitate survivors of human trafficking and organizations that save animals from abuse and neglect. Someday, I will donate my time as well. I plan on assisting however I can, organizations that shelter women who have been forced to leave home for a myriad of reasons. One very common theme is fleeing domestic violence. There is so much good I am doing and can do with my resources. What about you? What’s your highest purpose? #contentwriting #functionalmedicine #holistichealth #mentalhealthawareness

The theme for DVAM is Heal, Hold & Center. This DVAM and beyond, we must work together, embrace the many cultural ways we can heal from violence and oppression, commit to holding space for survivors, and center those most marginalized in all of our efforts to end domestic violence. As we heal, hold, and center survivors, especially those navigating anti-Blackness and other systems of oppression, we remain grounded in the knowledge that there is no survivor justice without racial justice. What are you doing today to spread kindness and joy or to brighten someone's day? 🤷♀️ Kindness is a ripple that can create waves of positivity! Here are some of my favourite ways to make a difference: Buy an extra coffee for a stranger or co-worker. Donate things you don’t need to a local NGO. Donate money to a good cause. Write a thank you note just because. Volunteer your time or expertise in your community. Leave a message of encouragement for a friend or co-worker. Hold the door open for the person behind you. Give someone a genuine compliment. Message to check in with a friend. Let's all do our part to make the world a little brighter today! What are some of your favourite acts of kindness? #SpreadKindness #ActsOfKindness

For we all deserve to live with Dignity and a sense of Agency. Last week we welcomed Give Your Best to Nucha. Give Your Best introduced one of the most innovative secondhand platform for they allow folks living in clothing poverty, refugees seeking asylum, victims of trafficking, destitute, with no recourse to public funds, escaping domestic violence or with precarious immigration status to "shop" for free. Want to support the amazing work they do? 1-Donate your clothes directly via their platform. 2-Request a Bestie Bin via partnership@giveyourbest.uk Put it in your premises and watch your team fill it up with clothes they no longer wear. This bin offers a convenient way to give back. By simply dropping off your gently used clothes, you’re not just decluttering; you’re making a difference in someone’s life through giving back choice and agency. 3-Check their page out on Nucha. There you can do it all for them. -Make a donation -Start a fundraiser -Buy from them And if you can't afford to donate your unwanted clothes, well sell them instead and donate a portion to their cause. It's as simple as that. #techforgood

Would you give your best? When I stumbled upon Give Your Best on Instagram, I was amagez by the way they went about clothing donation. Put simply, they came up with an idea similar to Nucha App except that there’s no payment involved. Think of it that way, when many charities have to manage stocks, run a charity shop and deal with unsellable or unpleasant donations, Give Your Best supporters truly give their best. I haven’t tried the system yet but it goes like that : -You list on their plaform any item of clothing you no longer wear but that you know still has a lot of life left in them. -Someone in need “shops” it. -You get a message with their details. -You ship the item away knowing 100% it will be worn. How clever is that? For those who want to support Give Your Best but can’t afford to give their clothes away, - Head over to Nucha App - Upload the pile of clothes you haven’t worn for the last 12 months (more than 30% of your wardrobe actually) - select a portion of the proceed you want to donate to them - And keep the rest. When you make a sale, they’ll receive your donation free of charge. And that means FREE. No [*] No limit on the amount you donate. Oh, and you can also : -Make donation -Start a fundraiser to support them or -Buy from them on our platform. I’m told they have some nice pieces already listed. PS : I’m building Nucha for charities, their supporters and circularity lovers. If you are a charity decision maker reading this, don’t wait for Nucha to be a thing before you get your charity listed. Most great things happen when you take a change on innovation. Thanks Sol Escobar Davina Ebikeme and Chloé Dreux for betting on the future of fundraising and circularity. #techforgood

Alarming statistics like this remind us of how much work we still need to do as a human society. As long as wars, climate change and harsh economic conditions continue to ravage lives and uproot people from their homelands, vulnerable people will continue to seek safety and a better life elsewhere. It is imperative that world leaders provide safe and fair passage for refugees and migrants across the world. My recent project, We Speak Their Names In Hushed Tones, explores migration from the perspective of families of missing migrants. It follows the stories of family members of missing migrants from Benin City, Nigeria, exploring the psychological effect of the consequences of irregular migrations on families who are left clueless as to the whereabouts of their loved ones. The project utilises virtual reality (VR) and photography and sound, to immerse participants in the rooms of family members as they, the family, narrate their pains, anxieties, fears and unresolved hopes as they await their missing loved ones.
What if your loved one went missing and you never found out what happened? 😔 At least 41,000 people who died during migration in the past decade are still unidentified. This includes 20,000 who remain missing at sea. Since 2014, the #MissingMigrants Project records people who die during migration regardless of their legal status. Every figure recorded by the Missing Migrants Project represents a person with hopes, dreams, and a family left behind. Our data tells their stories, demands attention, and calls for action. Your support can help raise awareness and prevent further loss of life. Donate today: https://lnkd.in/gg7YxkHn

In a world where we can be anything, let's choose to be kind and good. Our actions, no matter how small, have the power to create a ripple effect that touches lives in ways we may never know. ✅Here’s why staying kind and good matters: 📍Kindness is Contagious: When you spread kindness, it inspires others to do the same. A simple smile or a helping hand can brighten someone’s day and encourage them to pass it on. 📍Goodness Creates Change: Acts of goodness, whether big or small, contribute to positive change in our communities. Volunteer your time, donate to a cause, or just be there for a friend in need. 📍The World Needs More Love: In times of division and hardship, kindness and goodness can be the glue that holds us together. Let’s be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people. Your kindness and goodness are needed now more than ever. Let’s make the world a better place, one good deed at a time. Remember, the world needs you! 🌍💕 POV: You have the power to make a difference. #StayKind #StayGood #SpreadLove #BeTheChange #KindnessMatters #GoodVibesOnly #MakeADifference #PositiveImpact #WorldNeedsYou #KindnessIsCool
