Dose-response is a fundamental part of risk assessment, whether it’s for a microbe, chemical, or even a food. But these models rely on a range of assumptions. When you put them together with observational data that might be confounded, an accurate estimate might not be the result especially for low exposures when the data comes from high exposures. In our newly-published study, we quantified the biases resulting from model selection and inclusion of high consumers on the dose-response, using the association between low consumption of red meat and colorectal cancer as an example. Combating #malnutrition requires a coordinated effort across sectors, but evidence on the costs and cost-effectiveness of multisectoral #nutrition strategies has been limited.    This lack of information impedes the ability of funders, policymakers and program managers to make informed decisions about which interventions to prioritize to improve nutrition outcomes and achieve nutrition-related development targets.    Closing this data gap is crucial, which is why the Strengthening Economic Evaluation for Multisectoral Strategies for Nutrition (SEEMS-Nutrition) consortium developed a common approach to conducting costing studies.   This common approach aims to strengthen the design and implementation of economic evaluations, with a focus on context-specific operational plans or study protocols. It utilizes a comprehensive and fully customizable set of cost data collection tools for estimating financial and economic costs.
