When you have to put in the effort to obtain or maintain something, you gain a deeper appreciation for it. You're motivated to be self-sufficient. When you've personally invested "blood, sweat and tears" into something, you recognize its importance and treat it with greater care and respect. It’s a reminder that effort and struggle can lead to greater appreciation for the rewards that come from your own labor. Here’s a break down: - "Carry your own water": This suggests doing the hard work yourself, taking responsibility, and not relying on others to provide what you need. - "Value every drop": When you put effort into something, you come to understand its worth. You become more mindful and appreciative of what you have, especially if it's something you worked hard to get. So extend gratitude today to someone who has built something through hard work and dedication. Thank them for carrying their own water, and if you have done the same, be grateful to yourself for sticking through it. #ACC #AfricanCultureConnection #WisdomWednesday #AfricanProverb #AfricanWisdom #SelfSufficiency #HardWorkPaysOff #ValueYourEfforts #MindfulLiving #GratitudeAttitude #PersonalGrowth #CulturalWisdom #EffortAndReward #AfricanHeritage

Day 10 of the Gratitude Challenge! Sometimes, our greatest growth comes from our biggest challenges. Difficulties can shape us in beautiful ways. **Today's Question:** What challenge or obstacle in life are you most grateful for experiencing? Maybe it was: • A setback that led to an unexpected blessing • A difficult season that strengthened your faith • A struggle that revealed your inner strength • A detour that guided you to a better path • A trial that deepened your relationships "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." - James 1:2-3 Share your story below. Your testimony of finding gratitude in life's challenges might be what someone else needs to hear today. #SSCCGratitudeChallenge #Overcomer #Faith #Growth #Testimony #StateStreetChurch #SSCCLP

'Be Grateful' Lewis Howes, in his book ‘The School of Greatness’ talks about creating a grateful mindset which he calls an ‘Attitude of Gratitude’. He goes on to say that ‘Life is better if you develop an attitude of gratitude’. The more you thank life, the more life gives you to be thankful for. A construction supervisor from the 16th floor of a building was calling a worker on the ground floor. Because of the noise, the worker did not hear him. To draw his attention, the supervisor threw a Rs. 10 note in front of the worker. The worker picked up the note, put it in his pocket and continued working. Again to catch his eye, the supervisor threw down a Rs. 500 note. Again, the same thing was repeated. The supervisor was peeved. He picked up a small stone and threw it down on the worker. The stone hit the worker. This time, the worker looked up & the supervisor was finally able to talk to him. This story is the same as our life. God from up there wants to communicate with us, but we are too busy doing our worldly jobs. Then, he gives us small & big gifts. We go ahead and keep them without looking up or thinking about how we got them. In other words, we pocket our rewards, without ever thinking of thanking him. We say we are lucky. And when we are hit with a small stone, a metaphor for the problems that we finally encounter in life, we think of looking up and communicating with him. That’s why it is said, he gives and forgives and we get & forget. It is important to be grateful for everything in your life. Most people focus on things they want & forget to be grateful for things they have and then when they encounter a problem, they remember God. Starting today Remember God & be grateful to him for all that he has given and blessed us with. The alchemy of all alchemies is gratitude. Even if we learn nothing else, we must learn how to say THANK YOU for the umpteen blessings we receive every day and Stay blessed forever. #gratitude #thankyou #lifelessons #positivethinking #learning #DearSon #inspiration #motivation #lifecoach #sahayakgurukul #giving #begrateful #gyankibaat #successtips #lifelessons

When we look back at past relationships, the tendency to regret can be strong. But in truth, every love—whether fleeting or lasting—contributes to who we are today. Instead of looking back with regret, we can choose to feel gratitude for the journey. Every experience has taught you something beautiful. 🌹 Today, find one memory you’re grateful for and hold it close. Regret has a sneaky way of making us feel like we’ve missed out. But imagine if you truly believed every choice you’ve made was meant to bring you to this very moment. Living without regret doesn’t mean we don’t have moments we’d change—it means choosing to be grateful for where they’ve led us. Embrace the lessons from your past and be present with where you are. When you live fully, regret becomes a teacher, not a shadow. ✨ What are you ready to let go of today? 💌 Share your gratitude story with us! 👉 https://lnkd.in/gVBq3vdz #SelfConfidence #Empowerment #mindsetcoach #energycoach #energymedicine #bhavnamegh #steppingintoyou #SelfAcceptance #GratefulHeart #RelationshipJourney #PastAndPresent #NoRegrets

There’s a line from the film Inside Out 2 that resonated with me so deeply. You’re likely to miss it as it is very basic and simple that we fail to pay attention to it. It’s the scene where Sadness shyly asks Joy if she can go down into the memory pool with her. In response, Joy takes Sadness hand into hers and says to her friend, “Of course! Remember Sadness, wherever I go, you go too.” When I heard that, I remembered how some people like to say that they are afraid of being so happy because they know that after the happiness, sadness follows (I am one of them🙈) That’s really not true. One doesn’t follow the other because they always travel together, side by side, hand in hand. Joy and sadness are like the railroad tracks. Even on the saddest of days, if we look hard enough, and allow ourselves to experience it, there will always be some joy to be found. Likewise, even on the most joyful of days, like the birth of a child, a wedding, a graduation, a championship, or a promotion, when we remember that someone or something is missing, there will always be that tinge of sadness. So when we say that we are grateful for life, we cannot just be grateful for the joyful moments, we must be grateful even for the sad parts. We must be grateful for all of it. Joy and sadness carry us (or we carry them) as we move forward from one season of life to the next. 💛🩵 #learning #selfdevelopment #future

Before you start grumbling and thinking about what hasn't worked or the things you haven't been able to achieve, regretting and agonizing over the part you were supposed to play but couldn't in the past 11 months, can you just take a moment to say, "Father, I thank you for thus far, you've helped me." Take a gratitude journal and begin to write down the things God has helped you achieve. Somebody might say, "I was only able to complete my degree program." Did you know someone out there is trusting God for what you're not grateful for? Those relationships and access you had - be grateful for them. They might be the open doors for your next move. That book you bought for your personal development is also an achievement, even if you didn't finish it. A little drop of water makes an ocean. At the same time, you can deal with procrastination and laziness that held you back from achieving some goals. Learn not to dwell too much on what hasn't worked. Instead, focus on the progress you've made and the opportunities ahead. Instead of dwelling on what you can't control, focus on finding ways to improve. We still have 31 days left in the year. If you're struggling to achieve certain goals, consider finding an accountability partner - this can be a great source of support. Additionally, don't underestimate the power of prayer, even for the smallest things. I'm not supporting mediocrity or laziness in any way. Instead, I'm encouraging you to build structures and discipline yourself for the things you couldn't achieve. It's not about showing people the results of what you're capable of doing; it's about the joy and fulfillment that comes from achieving certain milestones. On a separate note, you can still achieve something significant before the year ends - no pressure! What are you grateful for?
