African Energy Council’s Post

Galp has successfully discovered light oil and gas condensate in Namibia's Orange Basin, building on its previous exploration campaign in license PEL 83. The recent Mopane 1-A appraisal well, drilled by Saipem's Santorini drillship, encountered high-quality reservoir sands, confirming the extension and quality of previous finds. As an operator with an 80% stake, Galp, alongside partners NAMCOR and Custos, will continue exploration and appraisal activities, including a high-resolution 3D seismic campaign set to begin in December 2024.
