The average OSB carcass dead weight produced by our independent pork producers in 2023 was 71.01kg The photo shows the carcass of two intact males raised on 5 acres. At around 4.5 months of age, it became increasingly evident that the quantity of feed given was excessive, as they often left feed in their troughs. They seemed to thrive naturally, foraging in the field and obtaining necessary sustenance and nutrition from the land. Consequently, the decision was made to reduce their daily feed from 4 lbs to 2.5 lbs per pig. Additionally, they were given apples, as well as loganberries and blackberries that were growing around the fields at the time.
