Let's be intentional next week and call a buddy or two and ask them how they are doing. Buddy checks make a major difference in the lives of Veterans who may be facing some challenging times. #MakeTheCall #BuddyCheckWeek
📞 Check in and Make a Difference! 📞 🗓️ Every month, I encourage everyone to call a Veteran on the 12th to see how they’re doing. Recently, Terrence Hayes, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) shared that the VA has a Buddy Check Week coming up Oct 21-25, 2024! Let’s extend our check-ins and make an even bigger impact. Call a fellow Veteran or Military Family member and ask how they’re doing. You’ll be amazed at how much a simple check-in can boost someone’s energy and spirit. It goes a long way. And remember🙏🏼It is about God. ✨It is About Family. 👥🏘️ its about You and finding your tribe. Happy (belated) Veterans Day to those who served a country that refused to serve them back. Don’t forget, this holiday has NEVER had the same meaning for Black Americans, even though we have served in EVERY war. With that said, let’s talk about the racist way the G.I. Bill was enforced in the 1940s and beyond as a form of affirmative action for White Americans. 🗣️ Did you know this? Do you have a veteran/ancestor you’d like to acknowledge? For me, it’s James Knight and Ernest Crim Sr. 😢🙏🏾 🚨Lemme know, follow for more and DM for business inquiries. #veteransday #ushistory #blackhistory #racism #history #redlining #military #dei #antiracism

In 1782, General George Washington, Commander-In-Chief of the Continental Army, commissioned the first Purple Heart Medal, which had previously been called the Badge of Military Merit. This merit is presented to the brave men and women who are wounded or killed while serving. Take some time today to remember, honor, and pray for the valiant men and women recognized by the Military Order of the #PurpleHeart. 💜 #GCGWealthManagement #Finance #PersonalFinance #FinancialPlanner #FinancialAdvisory #Retirement #Invest #CharlotteNC #CharlotteSouthEnd #VantageSouthEnd #CFP #PurpleHeartDay

The final book of The Stoker Trilogy, Acceptance, is now available everywhere. It tells the story of WW2 as experienced in Europe by British commandos, in the desert by the 8th Army, in the oceans by the Royal Navy, and at home by ordinary people living behind blackout curtains. A big book and a good read.

On this day, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the heroes who stepped forward in the face of unimaginable tragedy. First responders, medical personnel, and countless volunteers served courageously, offering their all to help families and communities in need. As a USAF veteran, I’ve come to reflect on what it truly means to serve. When we sign up to join the military, I don’t know if we fully understand the weight of giving ourselves for others. But when the moment comes—when faced with the decision to defend our country, fight for freedom, and even face the possibility of war—so many do not flinch. They serve with honor, and some pay the ultimate price so that others can live their lives in peace. This spirit of selflessness and sacrifice is something I carry with me, not only from my military service but also in everyday life. Whether on the battlefield or in the challenges we face daily, standing for what you believe in and knowing your value is a form of strength that can inspire and uplift those around us. Today, we honor those who gave their lives on 9/11 and those who continue to serve. Let’s never forget their sacrifice and strive to support one another in their memory. #NeverForget #911Heroes #EqualPayEqualSay #VeteranStrong #ServiceAndSacrifice #Resilience #Leadership #HonoringTheFallen #MilitaryService #NeverForget #911Heroes #EqualPayEqualSay #VeteranStrong #ServiceAndSacrifice #Resilience #Leadership #HonoringTheFallen #MilitaryService

This is such great insight: “Not being a Green Beret is harder than being a Green Beret.” Read on for the explanation ../
Not being a Green Beret is harder than being a Green Beret. Yes, I said that correctly. The biggest challenge I ever faced wasn’t donning the Green Beret…it was taking it off. Transition from the military is an unknown journey that tests even the greatest special operators in ways they never imagined as they’re forced to answer the question of what’s next. Green Beret Foundation has placed Veteran Service Officers in each active duty Special Forces Group to assist transitioning operators answer this question, navigate the disability benefits process and provide job placement services as they prepare for the next chapter in life. #NationalHispanicHeritageMonth is an opportunity to recognize and honor one of the Army’s greatest strengths, its diversity. Today, there are about 170,000 Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve Soldiers who self-report as being of Latino descent. Also, about 7% of Army civilians are of Hispanic or Latino descent. According to a Department of Veterans Affairs 2022 report, there are about 1.3 million Latino Veterans, or about 8% of the veteran population. National Hispanic Heritage Month begins mid-month on September 15th because that is the Independence Day for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. September 16 is Mexico’s Independence Day and September 18 is Chile’s Independence Day. October 12 is also celebrated across Spain and Latin America as the Day of Hispanic Heritage because it is the day Columbus arrived in the Americas. #USArmySignalCorps #Signalcorps #USARMY @US_CYBERCOM @ARCYBER @armyfutures @Signal_School @US_CYBERCOM
