Changemaker-maker and Founder of SINA (Social Innovation Academy), creating freesponsible & self-organized communities for systemic change | Let's Connect!
Exactly 10 years ago, at the end of June 2014, the journey of SINA began with a facilitator training in Mpigi, Uganda and the creation of the NGO “Jangu International“, the first and main SINA community. Its pioneer scholars arrived in July 2014 to co-create the SINA Framework. This is now 10 years ago and the journey has exceeded my wildest dreams with 15 existing SINA Communities, three more starting in the coming weeks and 4 more have started their replication journey to start in 2025.

This interview captures some reflections and the story. Thank you to my dear friend Ambrose Kibuuka, who was there as well at the early steps in 2014.
🎉 Daily anniversary testimonial: Layla Ali! 🎉
In our workshops, we not only bring together stakeholders from different countries and regions, but also from across different disciplines, believing that the challenges we discuss in our events cannot be addressed by actors within one specific field. Rather, academic specialists and professionals within a certain field need to talk to representatives from the public sector, but also educators, artists, journalists and civil society representatives to develop new ideas on how a problem can be constructively addressed from various fields and perspectives. Our friend Layla M. N. Ali, who is a researcher at the Gulf Research Center - مركز الخليج للأبحاث and has been collaborating with us in the framework of our joint Tafahum wa Tabadul project, thus speaks from experience when she observes: "CARPO has a remarkable ability to link and gather experts from across different disciplines."

Life Update.
Here's a quick lesson that I've learnt whilst building a community for those interested in African History 🌍
When I came up with All Things Africa, I strongly felt that facts and insights into Africa's diversely rich culture, histories, and stories needed to be shared, and that is precisely what All Things Africa does, providing captivating and educational content for an enjoyable learning experience.
Reflecting on the journey of building ATA, I learned the stark lesson that journeys of progress are anything but linear. Every new step makes someone feel like they are starting all over again, which comes with a cocktail of feelings, including anxiety, nerves, and hope!
I started ATA by sharing videos on my personal Instagram, which at the time had a community of about 50K (this has now grown to a community of over 103K🙌🏾). The next stage of progress was to set up ATA as its own entity; what started as a community of zero has now grown into a community of over 10K across both Instagram and TikTok, and now the next stage of progress is to build a YouTube community from scratch, which I have just launched today. What started as a community of zero now stands as a community of 5. It is small but progress.
All that being said, the lesson stands that progress is not linear and that small progress is still progress, even if it requires you to start from zero. Keep at it, and someday, it'll all work out.
Cultural preservation is essential to me, and I believe in the transformative power of education in shaping one's self-identity through an understanding of history and heritage. If this resonates with you, I invite you to join me and the All Things Africa community as we continue this journey.
Subscribe to our All Things Africa YouTube channel to be the first to see some of the amazing new topics we will cover, and follow ATA on Instagram and TikTok to catch up on all the content we have shared before. 💫
And to round this up, I have to give a big shoutout to Mayward Martindale who has been right beside me the entire ATA journey till date 🥹 eternally grateful 🖤

Celebrating Kwame Nkrumah's Legacy: Embracing Patriotic African Spirit!💡
Today, we honor Kwame Nkrumah's memory and reflect on his powerful words: "I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me."
At Eduvision, we believe patriotism goes beyond borders. It's about embracing our heritage, culture, and history. It's about recognizing challenges and working together towards a brighter future for Africa.
As we celebrate Nkrumah's legacy, let's recommit to:
Empowering African Youth: Investing in education, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.
Promoting African Excellence: Celebrating achievements and contributions to the global community.
Preserving African Culture: Protecting heritage sites, promoting traditional arts, and preserving languages.
As Nelson Mandela reminded us, "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Let's rise together, fueled by our love for Africa.
