I am once again reaching out to my network to talk about a topic no one wants to talk about. Suicide is a very real issue in the world. In the United States alone we saw nearly 50,000 suicides in 2022, a 2.6% increase from 2021. Those numbers represent actual people in our communities. 50,000 mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, best friends, and more lost. What those numbers don't show are the people who attempted but didn't pass away. It also doesn't show those who were left behind when a loved one made that decision. Many lives are impacted when someone makes that choice. Every year I contribute to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention 's "Out of Darkness Walk" here in San Francisco. We raise money to provide money for research and services to help address this issue. This issue is very important to me as I believe our mental health is important and that every life deserves to be saved. Every year I ask my network to donate to this cause to help us save lives. If it is in your heart to give, please do so. Any amount helps. Please click my official fundraising page below and donate if you can. Together, we can all save lives. If you are suffering and need someone to talk to, please dial 988 in the United States. For other nations, here is a list of international number -> https://lnkd.in/dEkeBpFp #savinglives #suicideprevention

In 2022, Indiana lost 1136 individuals to suicide — a heartbreaking reality that affects people of all ages, genders, and communities. *Men have died by suicide at a rate 3-4 times higher than women. *Suicide remains the second leading cause of death for Hoosiers aged 10-34, with teenagers being especially vulnerable. *Clark and Floyd Counties follow similar patterns, with rising concerns about youth and male suicide rates (stats by Indiana.gov) Together, we can change these numbers. By providing resources, fostering open conversations, and helping people get the immediate and long-term support they need, we can prevent these tragedies. Our 1136 - Courage to Care fundraising campaign is raising $113,600 to ensure no one in our community feels alone. Every dollar goes directly to providing life-saving support to those in need. Just a one-time donation of $100 — or $10 a month for a year — can make all the difference. With your contribution we can offer hope, healing, and a chance for a brighter tomorrow. Please join us in honoring the 1,136 lives lost and help us save others. Go to https://lnkd.in/eBAg2n_7 for more info and find the best way that works for you to donate (link in bio). Rape is not just a personal tragedy—it carries a devastating economic toll. The CDC estimates that the lifetime economic burden of rape per victim in the U.S. is $122,461, including medical costs, lost productivity, and mental health care expenses. For many survivors, this burden adds to the trauma they already endure. At Silverleaf, we believe no one should face these challenges alone—or worry about the cost of getting help. That’s why all our services are provided completely free of charge to survivors and their families. From therapy sessions to advocacy, we’re here to support survivors every step of the way. But we can’t do this without your help. Your donation makes it possible for us to continue providing life-changing services to those who need them most. 💙 Together, we can lighten the load for survivors and help them heal. 📲 Donate today at silverleafky.org/donate #SupportSurvivors #HealingTogether #DonateForChange

I am once again asking for your help. September is National Suicide Prevention Month. I know it's a dark topic but we need to talk about. In the USA alone, we lost around 50,000 people in 2023 and even more have attempted and even more than that suffer from mental health issues and suicidal ideation. There is a good chance that you are either directly or indirectly impacted by these facts. It may be you, a loved one, a coworker, a neighbor, etc. who is struggling. Maybe you or someone you know has lost someone. We need to openly talk about this subject. We need to bring it out of the darkness and into the light so that we can help everyone who is struggling. Life is precious and NO ONE should suffer alone. What's the ask? PLEASE DONATE and help me raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - San Francisco Bay Area chapter. The "Out of Darkness Walk" is on September 14 for San Francisco. You can donate via the link below. Even $5 can make a huge difference. If everyone who followed me donated $5 we'd have around $35k. https://lnkd.in/gEXPtUia If you are in the USA but do not live in San Francisco but still want to get involved, check out afsp.org to find your local chapter and see the ways you can help make a difference. If you are not in the USA, look into what your country or city offers. #nationalsuicidepreventionmonth #letssavelives #outofdarknesswalksf

So we all know that HT is horrible, and traumatic. We know it shouldn’t happen, and our laws and culture need to change to protect our children better. We all know that it takes a lot of resources and support to stand a chance at healing. But what would you do to truly help a survivor? Would you help them heal, if you could? Would you trade one cup of coffee per week? A $20 monthly donation could make all the difference in the life of a survivor. ☕️☕️☕️☕️—>Life-Saving Therapy: Humansave.org/donate It will take all of us, together, to end human trafficking within our generation.

Saturdays (weekends) are for charity also 👇 If you're looking for impactful ways to help vulnerable children and families in your local community on weekends, here are four things you can do: 1. Volunteer your time, skills, or resources at local organizations. 3. Donate to organizations that work to support them. 4. Offer emotional support to families who are struggling. 5. Educate yourself and others about the issues to raise awareness. P.S. It's important to remember that every family is special and unique, no matter where they live or what challenges they may be facing. Whether it's poverty, substance use, food insecurity, trauma, or physical and mental health, many families in every community go through these struggles, and it can put them at risk of breaking down. Let's remember to do our best to support and uplift all families. When was the last time you made a difference by donating to a charity? Share your experience and inspire others to give back, too. Your story could be the catalyst for someone else's act of kindness. #childwelfare #vulnerablechildren #championingchildwelfare #childwelfareadvocate #charity #20daylinkedinchallenge #socialwork #sharetostir #orphans #childrightsexpert #policy #traumaintervention #familiyandchild #adoption #orphanage #careleaver #careleader #dalhousieuniversity #Godcanbetrusted #deborahdzifahtamakloe #livedexperience #newchalleneg #author #beyondtheorphanage #familybasedcare

Make a Difference Before the Year Ends! On any given night, over 770,000 people in the U.S. are homeless! That is a heartbreaking 33% increase from less than two years ago. This crisis isn’t just about a lack of affordable housing or mental health resources, it’s a deeper issue rooted in a lack of kindness and compassion. At Compassion's Way, Inc., we believe that homelessness isn’t solved by processes or programs alone. It’s solved by people, people like you, coming together to show love, offer support, and give hope. With just 36 hours left in 2024, you can help us start 2025 with the resources we need to continue serving the homeless and underserved right here in Central Ohio. Every tax-deductible donation made before midnight on 12/31 helps you and helps us provide essential support to those who need it most. Let’s show that kindness and compassion can transform lives. Donate now by going to: https://lnkd.in/ehbsypN Together, we can make a difference. #Hope4TheHomeless #CompassionsWay #CentralOhio #YearEndGiving #SiliconHeartland

The #wealthiest municipalities in two of NJ's largest counties, send local youth in crisis to the #poorest municipalities in the state. I have a problems with this. Forcing youth to leave their #community, school, peers, and self-created support systems hours away in an unknown area makes them afraid to get help. We are in the midst of an #adolescent mental health crisis. Abusive relationships, drug and alcohol use, #suicide, and homelessness are increasing tremendously among our youth. They need safe places to turn. #Safe places for mental care. Opportunities for youth and families to work on preventing further crisis. CLCL Foundation cannot be that without you. Please, #donate today for youth 10 to 19 who are in crisis, runaways, homeless, stepping from inpatient care, and more. https://lnkd.in/g3jXfQJp ##BeTheChange #ChooseLove ##CelebrateLife #HelpOurYouth #Help #Donate #Volunteer

When you give to Effect Hope, where does your money go? Here are just a few of the practical ways your donation can be used to transform the lives of people affected by NTDs: 📚 Teaching students and community members about NTDs so they can recognize symptoms and get help more quickly. 🤝 Creating peer support groups to improve mental wellbeing for those struggling with NTDs. 📊 Funding research to continue to improve NTD treatment and interventions. 🔍 Screening for NTDs in remote areas so no one is overlooked. 💵 Investing in the small businesses of people impacted by NTDs to help them regain an income after their illness. 🩹 Providing important medical supplies such as gauze and bandages to prevent infection.
