The document coordinator or document controller is responsible for organizing and managing the flow of information to all project stakeholders. This includes tasks like registering, tracking, and reporting on document status, progress, and implementation requirements. However, their role does not involve being a secretary, data entry clerk, administrator, or handling public relations. They do not coordinate meetings, write letters, or define technical specifications for documents. Instead, they focus on reviewing these materials. Overstepping this role, by taking on tasks outside their scope, diminishes the value of the position and negatively impacts the profession.
