I definitely a different experience. I got to see the side of the early childhood development through that. I got to see IT genetics, makeup side. I got to see a corporate experience through my different projects. I was able to, for example, improve my writing communication skills, but also my organization skills. When I came here, I was such a big culture shock, but I think the moment I actually started to put myself out there and when it came to like embracing the culture and like meeting new people and trying new things, going new places, I think that's when I had the best time and I ended up having one of the best summers ever. It's been super easy to acclimate here because everyone's been so nice and accommodating, and I feel like I've established a new family here. I really enjoy just exploring Nairobi and seeing what the city has to offer. I've been doing pottery. Classes in my free time, learning some Swahili where I can, just exploring different restaurants and activities. So that's been really enjoyable. You get a very holistic experience here. You go to the cafeteria because of the amount of people. You'll end up sitting with someone that you don't know and you can talk to them, so you'll understand about diversity. The food you're getting is also from a Pakistani culture, so you're learning a lot about Pakistani culture, but you're also learning how to be a global citizen. I learned how to make a research project all by myself and all the things that go into it, whether it's trying to figure out what you're going to study, how to do a literature search, trying to determine what literature searches are actually for and how to use them to your advantage, how to optimize different skills, working with all these cool machines that exist in like a clinical lab. It's so much different than like being in just like university. Yeah. I think for me also like most of the skills that I've gained have been. Related to like project management and yeah, like kind of like going through the proposal and going through all of the research process and stuff because I don't have a ton of experience with that. So that was cool to cool to learn about. I can see the development and now she's at a level she can select research question, she can develop the proposal and she can conduct the research independently. When I worked at the people on my team, they were so friendly and they were always willing to help. So it was really great because with that I got to learn so much. And then also collaboration, I think was a big one. Having a whole cohort of interns has been really helpful. I think we've been really there to support one another. Working together as a team has shown me that we can learn a lot from the people around us, and we're definitely much more capable than we think we are. I've realized that it doesn't take a whole lot to be, to be working well in, in an, in a space, a professional space like I am. If if you work hard, you can do it. I'm really glad I did the internship because it showed me what I do one in the future, but it also allowed me to gain a good foundation and a good base knowledge of things so that I can use them in the future as well. As they exit this program, they're going to be able to go on to their next interviews. Our next conversations, not just being able to say I have project management experience, but actually explaining what that looked like, discussing the challenges they face and the growth and the reflection that was required to navigate those challenges. So they'll be richer as a result of it and they'll be able to to build on top of this experience in their careers.
