My top three strategies to find mindfulness during urban travel 🌇 I spent some days last week exploring Venice with my wife and parents. Visiting a city is usually a busy way of traveling. It's packed with exploration, exhibitions, new sites, and lots of people. Even the downtime in these kinds of travels is spent in social situations when you're with a group. For me, that makes it challenging to find moments of mindfulness. Here are a few strategies I have used to remind myself to pay attention and find those moments. 🚌 Public Transport Most urban travel involves some form of public transport. We traveled to a few islands outside of Venice by boat, for example. The downtime during the transport can be utilized for mindfulness. Instead of defaulting to checking my phone and scrolling to pass the time, I found it beneficial to think of transport time as mindfulness time. There are many sounds and sensations to pay attention to, which can be overwhelming. In this case, I found focusing on my breath particularly useful because it is a familiar sensation. I then leaned back to perceive the entire space in which the breath and all the external sensations were occurring. 🏛️ Entering Buildings Entering and exploring an unknown building is another excellent reminder of mindfulness. I remember when we first entered the San Marco Cathedral in Venice. I found it stunningly beautiful. Encountering new architecture and design, especially in buildings with large spaces, presents a valuable opportunity to be mindful. Pay attention to how the space feels, how voices sound, and observe the design with fresh curiosity. 🍕 Eating out Another opportunity is when ordering food and waiting for it to arrive. Often, people will relax a bit, and a pause will occur in the conversation. People will check their phones. Instead of defaulting to your phone, use this space to find a minute of mindfulness. For example, pay attention to your surroundings. Look at the restaurant's details, listen to the noise, and sense the lingering smell of food. The same happens when the food arrives. When everyone is busy eating, there is space to pay close attention to the taste of your own food. Traveling holistically can enhance your well-being by immersing you in amazing, enriching experiences. Here are three tips for a holistic travel experience: 1. Embrace Local Cultures: Engage in local customs to foster a deeper connection with your destination. 2. Practice Mindfulness: Take moments to meditate, journal, or simply be present to fully appreciate your surroundings. 3. Prioritize Sustainability: Make eco-friendly choices, such as using public transportation and supporting local businesses. I personally love the high speed trains in Europe! Enriching your experiences for the mind, body, and soul, will make your journey transformative 🧘♀️🌏✨ #HolisticTravel #Wellbeing #MindfulTravel #SustainableTravel #TravelTips #HealthyLiving #WellnessJourney #ExploreMindfully

🌍✨ Mindful travel is more than just a journey; it's about immersing yourself in the present moment and finding true relaxation. Imagine walking through a serene forest, feeling the crisp air, and truly connecting with your surroundings. Inspired by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and the poetic journeys of Matsuo Bashō, mindful travel encourages us to embrace spontaneity, engage our senses, and foster genuine connections with local cultures. Instead of packing your itinerary, consider slow travel—spending more time in fewer places allows for deeper cultural engagement and lasting memories. A personal anecdote from a friend illustrates this perfectly: by staying in a small Italian village, she enjoyed rich conversations and authentic experiences that redefined her understanding of travel. Unplugging from devices and practicing gratitude can further enhance our journey. By respecting environments and local cultures, we ensure our travels leave a positive impact. Discover the essence of mindful travel and how to incorporate it into your adventures. What do you think? As a guest- is it always easy to see what activities are available at a hotel? Or as a hotelier- do you find it hard to fill different activities?
In today's bustling world, travelers seek more than just a vacation—they crave experiences that nourish and replenish. That's where wellness offerings come in. From yoga sessions on the beach to meditation classes overlooking the crystal-clear waters, hotels provide guests with opportunities to unwind and reconnect with themselves. But, of course it's not just about relaxation; it's also about revenue. By showcasing a diverse range of activities, you not only enhance the guest experience but also drive revenue growth. Whats even more- Guests who are simply aware of the available leisure options are more likely to extend their stay, indulge in additional services, and recommend your resort to others. Staytus puts your activities front and center for the guests to discover and then we give them the opportunity to brag about it to other guests. Which if you ask us, is a pretty cool feature- Just check out the beautiful shot/ example posted from a guest in the Maldives. #luxurytravel #Hospitality
