In our latest work (led by Ava Soroudi w/ Jing Ma, Agatino Rizzo) for Länsstyrelsen Norrbotten we developed an accessible and multiscale #storymap on #SDGs for the #greentransition. One key takeaway from this study at #LTUarchitecture is that similarly to large urban areas even small but heavily industrialised regions play a major role to meeting the #climategoals. Representing only 2.4% of Sweden’s total population, Norrbotten is the 2nd-largest regional #CO2 emitter in Sweden. Unlike other regions in #Sweden, it shows a stable trend in emissions. This preliminary work should lay the foundation for a better understanding and future coordination of #landuse planning policies at the regional level in Region Norrbotten

At Content With Purpose, we’re thrilled to showcase innovative leaders who are shaping the future of sustainable construction in The Nature of Building: Biodiversity & the Built Environment. Morgan Sindall Construction is paving the way with its visionary "Regenerative Twin" approach, combining carbon reduction and biodiversity enhancement across the built environment. Leveraging advanced tools like Carbonica, they deliver projects that cut whole-life carbon emissions by up to 84%, proving that low-carbon, nature-rich solutions can align with economic viability and social value. By working closely with clients from the outset, Morgan Sindall not only meets biodiversity net gain targets but also advances the UK’s sustainability goals, creating developments that stand for environmental resilience and long-term impact. 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄: 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 ♻ As the climate change agenda intensifies, it’s clear we need to shift our focus to what we can do right now to make an impact. Instead of waiting decades for buildings to reach the end of their life cycle, why not explore how we can reuse materials today? The environmental benefits are immense, and reusing existing materials is a fraction of the cost compared to future recycling. Dynamic LCA is a crucial tool in helping us make these decisions for immediate change in the construction industry. 🎧 Listen to the full podcast with Sarah McLaren, who leads the Sustainable Futures theme in the HERA-led MBIE Endeavour program project to transform the Construction sector in Aotearoa New Zealand using Construction 4.0 approaches: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gqZZYDeQ - Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment | Massey University | Sachini Weerasinghe | David Dowdell | Mikael Boulic | Alice Chang-Richards | Kenneth Husted | Troy Coyle | Xun Xu | Michail Karpenko | Kaveh Andisheh, | Fleur Palmer | Ngākopa Construction4.0Hub | #ClimateActionNow #Sustainability #DynamicLCA #ReuseOverRecycle #LowCarbonDesign #HERA #SustainableFutures #Construction40 #FutureOfBuilding

🏗️🍃 Among the projects carried out with NBS (Nature Based Solutions) in the #BasqueCountry is the efficient construction with bioclimatic criteria of the Enertic building in Donostia/San Sebastián. 👉 It is a pioneering project for the way it incorporates energy efficiency, self-consumption, sustainability and climate change adaptation criteria at a time when this was not so widespread in similar constructions. 🔗 The full project report: on our website
