For those who don't know me, my name is Drew. For those who do know me, you may have called me worse names than that. 😅 For years, I’ve questioned the socially accepted life path, watching those I love struggle through the modern day rat race - chronically stressed and losing enjoyment for things they once loved. This sparked my curiosity about how we can create and live a guilt-free life for ourselves, and how our education system can better support mental health from a young age. Life is about perspective. While pain is inevitable, suffering is actually quite optional. My goal is to help others find unshakable peace by implementing proactive mental health habits - particularly in young people. Through my brand, emót., I aim to make mental health education a national priority, helping build stronger, more resilient individuals and leaders. 🧠💪 If this resonates with you, check out my blog where I'll be posting on various mental health topics as they pertain to the world we live in now, and lay the foundation for the world we can create. https://lnkd.in/eCnD_qrn #emot #emotyou #emotwearyou #mentalhealth #endthestigma #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #childmentalhealth #youthmentalhealth #parentingmentalhealth #mentalhealtheducation #kidsmentalhealth #mentalhealthforkids #mentalhealthinschools #studentmentalhealth #raisingresilientkids

How can we heal a broken U.S. mental health system? That’s the question #SMU faculty member Neely Myers addresses in this recent Authority Magazine article. Myers is a psychological and medical anthropologist with over 20 years of research on the ways the US mental health care system treats individuals experiencing psychosis and trauma. Her forthcoming book, "Breaking Points: Youth Mental Health Crises and How We All Can Help", is based on ethnographic research that has been funded nearly continuously by the National Institutes of Health since 2009. https://lnkd.in/gdnQGQfp #mentalhealth #mentalhealthcare
