It was an exciting three days at SITCE 2024! Thank you for joining us at the event. ST Engineering had the honour of hosting government delegations, #transport operators, industry partners, and key mobility stakeholders at our booth where we showcased over ten smart #mobility exhibits and held a well-received industry networking session. We have forged new partnerships with CRRC, WeRide, and ITE to advance urban mobility, focusing on electric buses with innovative features, developing a hybrid #autonomous management system, and delivering industry-relevant #training for automotive engineering systems and technologies. Our leaders and experts - Men Leong Chew, Liang Chin Ng, HAN CHI, Tang Hai Wei, PMP®, and Lewis Tan, shared their insights on sustainability in land transport, innovative approaches to #rail operations and maintenance, the adoption of Singapore’s public #bus system standards, and AGIL DriveSafe+ for buses. Special thanks to UITP, Land Transport Authority (LTA) Singapore and MSI Global Pte Ltd, for co-organising this incredible global transport event. 🎥 Check out the video for our key event highlights at #SITCE. 🔗 Learn more about our AGIL® suite of Smart Mobility Solutions: https://lnkd.in/gESn3NB #STEngineering #Transportation #FutureMobility #PublicTransport #rail #DigitalPayment #ElectricBus #ev #av #SmartCities

🤔 Are you interested in learning more about the current state and developments of autonomous mobility in North-West Europe? ➡ If so, have a look at our insights from the CAMINO - Planning for Automated Mobility on-Demand online seminar, where high-level experts discussed about this topic! #CAMINO #CCAM #PublicTransport
🌟 Recap of CAMINO's first online seminar! 🌟 On 14 May 2024, our first online seminar on future CCAM scenarios and market engagement took place. Many of our associated organisations and wider interest groups participated. Key Highlights: ➡ AV Strategies: Koen Schietecatte from De Lijn presented studies on shared automated mobility, including operational strategies and market analysis. Key points included their model for Flanders, which demonstrates how automated vehicles could affect travel. ➡ Tendering and Market Engagement: Gemeente Almere, represented by Lysander Van Der Sluis, discussed integrating AV into public transport. The presentation focused on AV operations on dedicated bus lanes and first/last-mile solutions, as well the planned tender for the BRT city network and bus lines between Almere and Amsterdam in December 2027. ➡ Traffic Modelling: Lesley De Beuckeleer from De Lijn showcased their traffic model, which uses software to simulate future transport scenarios and assess the impact of automated vehicles. Discussion Questions: ➡ Preparation and Integration: How are organisations preparing for the transition to automated driving? How will Robotaxis/shuttles integrate with private car usage and public transport—are they an add-on or a substitution, and what scale of impact is expected? ➡ Transition to Digital Drivers: When should human-driven buses be replaced by digital drivers, and what changes are necessary to consider this shift? ➡ Managing Uncertainty and Financial Benefits: How do we manage the uncertainty of technological and regulatory advances while ensuring offerings remain relevant? How can PTAs benefit financially from SAV? 🔎 For more input, you can find additional information at the link below! https://lnkd.in/dT72tYXe Thank you for your participation and contributions. Stay tuned for more updates on CAMINO ❗ #CAMINO #AutomatedMobility #PublicTransport #CCAM #FutureTransport #Innovation #AV #SmartMobility

Siemens Mobility expands trams in Ulm, Germany Under the contract, signed with the public transport operator SWU, 18 Avenio M trams, produced in 2018–2023, are to be expanded from five to seven cars. Thus, the vehicle’s length will increase from 31 to 43 m and the maximum capacity from 185 to 256 passengers. It will cost €45.9 mln, with 40% covered by funding from the state of Baden-Württemberg. An additional €28 mln are needed to expand the depot. The work will be carried out at the plant in Wegberg-Wildenrath, where the trams are to be delivered by rail. The first vehicle is to return to Ulm in early 2027, with tests on a local net preceding the launch. All trams are to be fully converted by mid-2028. A similar contract was signed in March by Alstom. The company will expand 34 Citadis 302 trams by 12 m for €57 mln in Le Mans, France. This move should increase the passenger capacity by 85 people.
